I bought mine a while ago but the cheapest store that I found them at was jb hi-fi. Got a pair of HD477s for $100, and they are fantastic headphones.

Not any more. They are now around the corner as if you are walking to the mall from Adelaide Street. Sort of opposite Showgirls (or whatver the seedy strip club is called). Near Boost Juice, Scarab etc. You can't miss it. However they usually don't keep much in stock. I'd say JB and CS are your best bet.

depends dude what type of senners are you after and what price. JB have pretty much all of the low level to mid range headies for multi purpose use

i had been searching all over for HD-25's for dj'ing as i wanted a change from my senner 212's but didnt wanna pay $420 which is basically your standard price throughout oz, alas i found a pair last week from chemical records, uk vinyl store and cost me $240 shipping included, boh! hopefully should be arriving tomorrow :D

Zulu, nice headphones dude. That's what I have. I was thinking of swapping them out for the next model down (with the open backs as I use them only for gaming)

Hey Zulu, let me know how smooth that transaction goes! If theres any handling problems or such.

$240 shipping inclu for HD-25's is awesome! (they're not hd-25 sp's?)
What's their website? Im gonna go google now but just incase i can't find it :)

theres a small business on the northside past ashgrove i think... I bought my sennheisers for $135 at the time.... cheapest price around....

I can't remember the name, but you could try google or go to sennheiser website and look at their retailers list....

or try this site www.staticice.com.au (this site is the bomb when looking for computer parts, gadgets, electronics etc etc

For a range of semipro to professional cans (that is mid to high end) try one of the major sound places. In Brisbane, the major sound places are

Brisbane Sound Group (as also recommended by Eds) - Cnr Burrows St and Abbotsford Rd Bowen Hills (just down from Albion Station 301 bus stop 17/18 right outside, or shop online)

CPC Audio - Short St Bundamba (just down from Bundamba Station follow the walkway back towards brisbane on the motorway side of the station)

AVI/ACP - Dover St Albion (short walk from Albion Station or 301 bus stop 19)

Of these, I have only ever bought stuff from the first two, and Brisbane Sound is perhaps a little cheaper generally, and is often more likely to have the product you want in stock so you can just walk in and buy it. I've never been to AVI, and they seem to have stopped answering my emails recently.

Also, if may offer my opinion, don't by supra-aural, buy circum-aural. Supra-Aural sit on your ears and squash them to your head (making them really sore after a while), but circum-aural sit on your head around your ears, and your ears can project normally out into the cups.

For your info (if you don't already know), open or open backed headphones are designed to let in outside noise, while closed back headphones will block all outside noise. Closed back headphones, however, will usually not give as good surround sound imaging as open backed headphones specially designed for virtual surround sound.

For music, I love my AKG K55. Most comfortable headphones I have ever worn, and only $49.95 (on sale plus discount for cash, regularly $69.95) from Brisbane Sound.

BSG are sennheiser dealers and stock a fair range of product, no complaints there.
CPC are out in the woods and wont have jack all stock, plus they annoy me
AVI/ACP went under over 6 months ago and no longer exist

IJS/Audio Sales & Recording are a senheiser rep but dont carry much stock in the way of headphones, however if you are looking for something specific let me know and i'll do you a good deal.

I went to JB HiFi, paid cash and got $10 off the price. Not bad considering they were only selling for $75. So i got about 15% for paying cash.

I guess if AVI have gone under, that explains why they no longer answer my emails. I just assumed that they had gotten rude. :)

Its not 10% off all, the amount off will differ based on cost and based on mark up.

Basically though if its a cash transaction they can get around paying some taxes because they don't need to have a record of the transaction...
