I've read heaps of reviews on the net, but I was wondering if anyone here has actually owned a Sony Ericsson k700i and whether they have any opinions on them (Buy, Don't buy). I've heard that on some phones, there's a 3 second delay things before you can talk. Can anyone confirm?

thanks

Well I have the k508i and like it alot. One of the guys I work with has the k700i and it is basically the same except the 700i camera has a light and the 700i has bluetooth. As far as I can tell the rest is the same (case is slightly different). Also he likes it.

Driving them is different to driving a Nokia, once you get used to it its better imo.

The only negative I can think of is not being able to replace/customize the plastic shell. Personally thats a non issue for me, but for some it might be.

i have a k700i its really good
dad has a k508i the screen is a lil crapper, and a few other things, and no bluetooth as mentioned

its pretty tough (been dropped a few times)
it has everything i want, not such a pretty phone but features over form for me

if i was you, id get the k750i
its pretty much the same
except it has a memory stick slot (k700i has 42mb of usuable memory which is enough for a few songs, but with the memory stick you could put heaps of songs and a few eps of red dwarf, simpsons etc (when your stuck on a train or passenger on a long trip etc ?)

has slighter better key positions
camera is a bit better and has a shutter (unlike the k700i)
and is black and has pretty lights if thats your thing

k700i or k750i or k508i all great phones in my opinion, any questions feel free to ask

I've got a K700i. It's a nice phone. I came from Nokias, and had very little trouble adjusting to the slightly different methods of operation.

The lens of the camera gets dirty over time, but that's easy to clean with a cotton bud thingy and some lens cleaner.

battery life is pretty decent
i find i charge every 2nd or 3rd day (i listen to mp3's or watch mp4's fairly often)

playing music non stop through the loudspeaker lasted from sandgate to gympie to logan before the battery cut out

my gf had one, its for sale now. 250 ono.

awesome phone, reason for sale is that she is fickle and wants a new thing every 6 months, so yeah. check it out on the sold forums

that 3 second delay is true, you answer and just wait a bit before you can hear or say anything. i got used to it tho, wasn't really a problem.

main disadvantage is the lack of expandable memory, if thats what you're after. sony ericsson menu/usability is pretty awesome tho imo

fyi. The K750i and W800i arent scheduled for release this year in Australia... at least, according to the reliable folk at AllPhones Garden City. I asked, they said "We pretty much know every phone thats coming out in the next six months, and they arent in the list"

I nearly cried... the the 750 is going to be my next phone, at least, I thought...

Haven't got any 3-second delay on mine. I answer with "Hello, this is Kieran." and that takes about 3 seconds, and I've yet to have somebody say "HUH!? HELLO!? IS THERE ANYBODY THERE HELLO!|?!"

yeah i haven't noticed any delay :S

Anyway, my work gave me the k700i and pays my bills, so really I would have thought any phone with such an arrangement was pretty good hehe.
