I have no idea if this is an anniversary item or not, but I am after a bottle of Jim Beam Gold.

I have only seen an empty bottle of it so I have no idea how much it goes for or where to get it.

The Fridge doesn't have it on it's price list and google and ebay aren't much help

kat have u tried places like dan murphys (theres one on the coast apparently) or places like liquor superstores (theres on at lutwyche and one at keperra dont know south side though). they usually have a very big range of spirits and most of them are locked up.

the only other way u might be able to see it is to see it at a duty free store, but then u wont be able to buy it. i saw a 1 litre bottle of Absolut Rasberry at a duty free in melb but that stuff doesnt exist anywhere else ive seen :(

I am not a scotch fan and as I have said earlier, I have never tried JBGL, so I figure I will put the request out there and see how I go :) Sounds like it may be to much effort for people to get it for me though :P

I'm curious, is the gold label Jim Beam the same thing as "Bonded Beam"? I've got a bottle of the bonded beam and it's in a sort of gold coloured box. I can't drink the stuff though, it's 50% alcohol and tastes like paint stripper (and I like the green/black label Jim Beam).

So what is the gold then? Is it higher alcamahol than the regular ones or is it just that it's cured 30 years in an old drum at the back of ole' Jimmy Beam's granpappys house or what?

Even the official Jim Beam site is bloody useless. I found one link that said it's 100 Proof, but I dunno whether that's accurate because they might be looking at the bonded beam.
