The date from the previous threads was next Friday, the first of April.

Then the digussion got onto RE vs the rest of Brisbane.

Cnsidering the people who were all jumping up and down went to the RE every weekend or spare moment anyway, I didn't think it was good common ground.

It went downhill from there and turned into pissed off re'ers trying to f*** the thread over at any chanse

i hardly go to the RE now anyway, the RE was suggested, there was a reasonable amount of support for it, its an awesome place to have drinks, chat easily and listen to some live music.

and there seemed to be a lot of support for it, and not many against

Tung, as I said in the previous thread, if there was big enough support for the RE then it would be at the RE. Me saying that if it was at the RE meant I wouldn't be going was taken as "The bitch won't let us have it at the RE" and then the thread/s started being hijacked about cricket and god knows what else.

I had to start over 5 new threads to get rid of s*** posts and in the end I just gave up

Does April 1st still work for people?

Thats why I think the dinner/pre-drinks thing first is a better idea, then anyone who doesn't want to go bar hopping afterwards doesn't have to, and anyone who wants to go to the RE can go. I mean, if the actual "meet" was just the dinner thing, I'm sure we could figure out on the night where to go afterwards.

I think the RE is the best palce to go, i'll be there already so I don't need to change anything to e-thug you all

RE is cheap ($7.50 jugs of carlton draught) close to all forms of public transport (bus/train/yourmum) and is about a $10 cab ride to the city

and if you have a gold card, $4.50 meals too!

that $7.50 jugs goes for VB too

I've never been to a strip club before but from what I hear they aren't the best place for social gatherings. RE atmosphere is great for meeting new people. The music isn't too loud and it's easy to be in a big group of people without shafting anyone... unless you want to.

They have seafood, chicken, pasta, salads, etc as well. Its just that steaks are the thing they're known for, but they do plenty of other non-steak stuff.

I've been to one once, and I'd have to agree that they're definately not places you want to meet (much less actually go to one). Full of mafia types, smell bad and you probably don't want to touch any of the surfaces in there (I saw a few guys playing pocket pool yuck).

My boss also knows Greg Lane pretty well (he used to work in the job I worked in years before I took it).

OCAU - First time I left because It was getting beyond a joke. People [who had never met me] just couldn't shut up. The second time I got banned becayse Agg said it was easier to ban me than the whole bunch who were actually in the wrong. QGL - I left QGL because of something totally unrelated to you bunch personally attacking me. Never been on SA. Offtopic was no longer fun so I left, now I am back. You must have missed my point :P
