why was gabriel helping lucifers son into the human world? i didnt catch that bit.

because gabriel thought humans were at their most noble when faced with adversity, so by unleashing hell, it would bring out the best in them, thus being worthy of God's love.

he did kill himself becuase he knew time stops when u die and that lucifer himself would come to collect him. then all he had to do was tell lucifer how naughty his son had been.

Twas cool at the end when Lucifer stopped Constantine from going to heaven and gave him another chance at life so he would somehow f*** up and Lucifer would have his way with him.

they are twins, both f***ed in the head for some unknown reason (or is there a reason)

the chick who killed herself admitted to being f***ed in the head, but the other 1 didnt

she commits suicide, then the other one becomes an exorcist, which in turn is the powerful psychic that was needed to bring the devils son to life

questions:

what the f*** was the point of the dude who lived in the bowling alley?

that whole bit where he got eaten by flies.. i didnt understand a single bit.

when she picked up that coin and started flicking it on her fingers... was that because she was re-living what that belbizar dude was doing just before he kiled the guy?

Anyway, both the sisters were twins and they both had the ability to see angels, although the one that became a cop decided to hide it from her parents or she would have ended up being labelled a nut by her parents. She hadn't used her "gift" for so long that she needed Constantine to give it back to her.

The dude at the bowling alley was working with Constantine, like Whistler was working with Blade. The demons wanted him killed so he couldn't help.

The demons used her to get to her sister so Lucifers son could enter our world.

She was acting like a spiritual medium when she led Constantine into the back room of the bowling alley. It was as if she was in that demons body and following what he did. That is how she found the coin. Also, without that coin, Constantine wouldn't have known where to go next and the movie would have turned to s***.

I'm guessing that electric chair is a gateway between the world of the living and the dead. I think it came from some famous prison that used it alot to execute prisoners. The only reason I think that is the guy that had it was neutral from heaven and hell and this chair would allow someone instant access into the afterlife, prolly hell most likely seeing it was used for people who committed bad crimes.

honestly didn't like the movie that much, but then it got me interested enough to see if the origianl comic is better (and it probably will be).

Original comic is brilliant. I'm not expecting the movie to be good, but from what I've read in this thread it sounds interesting, and it sounds like they kept at least a couple of the anti-social elements from the comic (that's a surprise).

existence - all the deaths made by balthazar (is that his name? the evil coin dude anyways) was him turning that persons greatest love into their worst nightmare...the priest dude died from too much alcohol because he didnt think he was actually drinking it...the weapon dude died from bugs (remember he liked bugs from when he gave constantine the screeching beetle :P) and the chick died through suicide...which prevented her from going to heaven even though she believed god was the only thing that still loved her in the world

and yeah, i thought it was an awesome movie...really liked how constantine killed himself to stop lucifer's son

Hellraiser comics are based on Clive Barker's Hellraiser. You know Pinhead and the other Cenobites and the Lament Configuration. They're from Epic I believe.

Heh when the movie first started and it started talking about the Spear of Destiny, I thought that was a trailer for an upcoming badass Wolf movie!@#

I thought Constantine was ok. Interesting storyline but I dunno, just not punchy enough for me to have walked out thinking it was awesome. The whole lung cancer thing annoyed me, because it seemed obvious that he was going to somehow get rid of it - though the way he did wasn't how I expected, I was pretty confident right from the outset that it was going to happen. They wouldn't have introduced it unless it was going to be cured - it would have been a lame movie if he'd died at the end of lung cancer, and not from being torn apart by Lucifer or something equally entertaining to watch.

I still think they made a crap casting choice, Constantine is described as looking a lot like Sting. He was born in Liverpool and lived most of his life in London. I reckon Robert Carlyle (trainspotting) would have made a better Constantine. Or one of the Lock Stock guys. Heck, why not hire Sting himself? He's acted a few times.

yeah, i second that. found a cover for the comic and reckon that sting looks more suited for the part.

i liked it, the one liners were great

I liked it. I'd certainly watch it again, so yeah.

I must say, the special effects were very well done. Heat effects, slow-motion ...

After seeing so many movies with horrible, horrible CGI (matrix regurgitated, van helsing) .. this was a breath of fresh air.
