Hey.
I wanna get a new LCD Monitor, 19", and with a 12ms response time (I've heard that's the best?). I want to play all types of games on it (FPS, RPG etc), so I'm pretty much looking for the best there is for gaming. What would you guys recommend? Don't worry about budget just for now, just recommend me some great 19" LCD Monitors (in your opinion). Thanks |

Yes, the FP937s are quite decent monitors, I havent heard much about the 8ms 19"s, they're apparantly overdue at present.

I was looking at some Phillips 8ms 19" LCDs today, $699... what put me off was they were D-SUB only.
Benq also have a number of good 8ms 19" monitors, but do you want D-SUB only, or do you want DVI? If the latter, you'll be up for a fair bit more cost wise. |

The samsung 913N is a good monitor.
Only downside is it's lack of DVI. I would not touch a Benq, but that's my personal preference. |

when I bought my video camera the instruction manual basically said if there's a dead pixel sux2bu live with it. That's on a screen of a handycam thing, I'd hate to see if panasonic made lcd monitors, how many dead pixels would there be in those? Where'd you get your lcd's eds? I want one :)

Just a quick note on the dead pixel warranty thing....
Samsung will now replace any new tft with dead pixels not like other brands like LG benq etc etc... |

Actually so will Benq, they have a 7 day policy. Then its 5 dead pixels after that.

what is the deal with the dead pixel thing? why wouldn't they replace it, I mean it's a defective product. If I pay 700 bucks for something, I want it to be 100% functional and error free. If I was paying say $200 for some no name brand from coles (yes coles, the place that sells food) then maybe I'd expect a pixel here or there to be kind of broken. Top dollar from top retailers demands top quality. Companies these days seem to have forgotten this. Where have all the quality products gone? it's all expensive s*** that lasts only a few months, years at best.

The Main Reason that LCD's dont have a warranty on there Pixels is simply this.
An LCD is very tempramental when i comes to it's pixels, if u just so as much poke the LCD a like too hard u can kill a pixel. E.G. U take the LCD to a lan U place the LCD in and out of your box the box may hit the LCD while u place it in the box(god i know i have done that.) There are many factors that can take into affect here. Personaly if i bought one that cost 700 dollars and then a week or so Samusumg have a monitor that was heaps better but for the same price what your u do? Kill a pixel take the DAM thing back to "umart" walk next door to the diskshop and buy a new one :) well thats what i would do. You see company's know this s*** will hapen and thats why they have no warrenty on pixels as there is no proof that the customer didn't halm the product after purchase :) later dudes |

the benQ FP937s is awesome. 12ms, DVI, 19". there's an 8ms version now too, but not as cheap.
the 937's around the $650 mark, and has the 7 day DOA, then standard 3 year |
