Sorry to make a thread just to bitch, but I am soooo PISSED OFF.
Since I have lived here (almost 8 months) I have had no end of problems. I have asked for things to be fixed, and they have not been fixed. It was not until I issued them with a 'notice of lessor breach' that they quickly fixed many of the problems. (some three months late) In the meantime we have been without hot water for over a month, my back porch floods upto the door whenever it rains. I have asked for them to fix this second problem since I moved in. Still to no avail. I received my dishwasher back just today, after having requested to get it fixed since we moved in (8 months ago) - They say better late than never, right? Now I get in the mail today a threatening letter that they will Issue me with a breach within 72 hours if I do not pay my rent. Anyway, why I am PISSED OFF - I'm not sure if anyone else has ever used rent pay, but this is the system that I have setup for payment. They take the money out of my bank account once a fortnight. On tuesday this week money was due to come out. I don't bother to check, as it is setup to come out automatically. I received a letter today saying that I have not paid rent, and I better do it soon, or they will evict me. I check my bank account, and sure enough the money is still there in my account. Can't they call me first before they send threatening letters? Can't they see that I have paid RentPay (their preferred form of payment!! ((find by me, as I don't have to go in to see the fat old bitches that run the place)) I was good enough to call/email them at least 10 times over a period of 3 months before I issued them with a breach notice. I think that is patient enough, don't you? So, they are stupid enough not to take the money out the way that they wanted it setup, and then they threaten to evict me, when it is their f***-up! If only I opened the mail before 5:00 today when they would have been opened so that I could gratiously enquire about this. Stupid fat bitches. |

heh everyone has a horro story.
I rented with Rental Hotline at Toowong in 2003 and found them to be the best I've dealt with. while on the other hand I found prorentals at Toowong to be theiving scheming bastards, as first national weren't great either. thats the rental market for you. Professionals Toowong is by far the best in Toowong though - hi jubs! |

Walkers Rentals turned me off ever renting via real estate again (if I can help it)
Every 3 months without fail would be an inspection. They'd "whoooops!" have snap inspection notices lost in the mail. Very very strict on rules, you could hardly live in your own house Tell me one thing, then do another (ie: Boy had to leave for work up the coast, couldn't bring his keys back until the next day, told us that was fine (they had no drop box for A/H key return) wouldn't charge us a day extra.. go to drop keys in and wouldn't release bond until we paid that extra day. *snarl* |

We're with Rental Hotline Toowong at the moment and they're okay, but IMO they're just too swamped and don't have enough staff. We moved in just over a month ago and have only recently got our problems fixed. I believe it would have been sooner if we could even get a hold of our property manager, but she's just been too damn busy. Once we could get hold of her thought she was really nice and got things moving straight away.

I've never had a problem with real estate rentals, but it's probably because I don't rent the cheapest s***tiest house I can find. I also wear a tie whenever I deal with them personally.
My automatic bpay expired earlier this year, it was 4 weeks before they called me to let me know, they didn't threaten or anything like that, it was all sorted that afternoon. We had some storm damage to the roof last year (cosmetic only) and they fixed it within 3 days. Had a blocked pipe, fixed in 2 days. Only thing that s***s me off are the inspections, but they only take 10 minutes, they just peep in each room, ask if there's anything that needs fixing, and that's it. Conincidently got this in the mail yesterday: http://www.fishprofiles.net/files/~adam/temp/insp.jpg |

prorentals at toowong screwed around one of my mates pretty bad, taht rentpay system seems to be flawed.
renting through prorentals atm, they undervalue their rental properties, so i win in that situation :) girlfriend works at doug disher real estate who we rented through last time, good ppl there, get on the job quickly and stuff is taken care of. professionals has jubs so they must rock |
