Seeing as I'm moving, and with the new restriction of Telstra, the restructuring of Optus, and the proliferation of their competitors, I'm currently considering changing providers. Anyone with good broadband plans, list the prices and capabilities of your providers. Considering I'm a Telstra whore currently, I'll begin:
Telstra Cable "Unlimited" Plan [With Own Cable Modem] Cost/Month: $59.95 Allowance: 10gig Download Speed: Unlimited Upload Speed: 16ks Contract Length: 3 Months Installation Fee: $189 |

I have been doing it, I know the optus and iinet plans as well, but I don't know of any other companies that do good plans. Thought it might be interesting to have a direct comparison for everyone to rate their plans, but, y'know, thinking is the first step towards failure.

if you are lucky enough to live near one of the only 2 or 3 brisbane exchanges that are enabled.

if you are lucky enough to live near one of the only 2 or 3 brisbane exchanges that are enabled. For iiNet:
Sure that's not all of Brisbane, but it's a good start and will hopefully get the competition active. If you live in those areas that iiNet has hardware in, you'll likely get 8Mbit, otherwise you'll be stuck on ... *gasp* 1.5Mbit (!!1), which is not bad as the lowest speed on offer. Personally, I'll be doing 40GB/month @ 8Mbit for $70 (split with roomy). Link to plans here (iiNet pimpage count: 35141) last edited by parabol at 19:07:56 20/Feb/05 |
