From the updater itself:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.2.3 (2005-02-15)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PvP Duels
Dueling across factions remains intact in the patch, in consideration
of players' desires to duel members of the opposing faction.

*This is a minor patch to address localization issues discovered
during the European beta test. These changes affect localized text
strings for French and German versions of the game only, and players
in other regions will not see any changes to the game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.2.2 (2005-02-15)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paladin
Seal of the Crusader: Fixed a bug where damage per swing was
increasing instead of decreasing when Seal of the Crusader was active.
This resulted in a dramatic increase in damage per second (DPS) that
was unintended. The tooltip for the spell displays the intent of
the spell:

"Fills the Paladin with the spirit of a crusader, granting additional
attack power. The Paladin also attacks faster, but deals less damage
with each attack."

The overall increase in DPS from Seal of the Crusader should only
result from the increase in attack power and not from the increase in
attack speed. We understand this is a significant decrease in the
power of this spell, but was a necessary bug fix to ensure both
overall game balance and the viability of different Paladin Seals.

Localization
- Various text strings and audio have been corrected for the French and
German versions of the game.

Macs
- Fixed a bug that incorrectly enabled the vertex animation shader
option on some GPU's that do not support it. This bug was causing
player character models in-game and in the character selection screen
to appear invisible or distorted. The fix should benefit users with
NVIDIA GeForce 2MX or 4MX GPU's and ATI Radeon 7000/7500 GPU's. It
should no longer be necessary to manually turn off the vertex
animation feature on these systems - it should now be off and
disabled automatically.

Bug Fixes
- Group loot has been fixed to work as originally intended. It will now
work exactly like round robin does, with the exception that when an
item of threshold level or above drops, it will use the auto-rolling
system. (Prior to this fix, when in group loot mode, the round robin
system was only being used for items (all players could loot coins),
which was rather confusing).
- Fixed a group loot permission bug that was telling players they did
not have permission to loot.
- Fixed a bug that was causing the game to freeze when scrolling
through auctions in the Auction House.
- Murlocs play the drown animation when they die underwater now.
- Onyxia correctly hovers instead of standing in midair.
- You can target vocal emotes again.
- Pets and summoned creatures attacking enemies will now tap the
enemies for their owners.
- Fixed a bug with Troll Shamans and the Berserk ability. Troll Shamans
can only go Berserk when they are in the wounded state.
- Rogues now correctly gain Lockpicking skill from items picked in the
trade window.
- Quests that require you to follow/escort an NPC will only complete
when you arrive at the designated area.
- Horde and Alliance members cannot duel with each other regardless of
realm type.
- Herbs and mineral nodes will remain active if they are not fully
emptied.
- Fixed a bug that was giving higher damage-per-second (DPS) to
Steelarrow Crossbow and Blackcrow than was intended.
- Sell prices on Hypnotic Blade, Illusionary Rod, Mantle of Doan, and
Robe of Doan have been lowered.
- Players who have completed the quest to summon Kirtonos may now
obtain the Blood of Innocents from Doctor Theolen Krastinov.
- The tooltip for the Warrior's Intercept ability has been updated to
reflect the proper rage cost. Using Intercept now requires 10 rage,
not 15 rage. The tooltip now accurately reflects that.

I don't play WoW myself, but I was wondering how you guys handle the changes forced upon you with patches?

I remember playing Diablo2 and having my Necromancer become neutered thanks to skill 'tweaks' after applying an official patch. In Warcraft3 I just gave up because all of the changes between frequent versions were just too overwhelming to take note of.

U can relearn all your talent points in game for the cost of gold, it increases every time u do it by 5 gold to a cap of 50 (starting at 1) so every patch if u want u can reconfigure instead of having to start a new char.

Isn't the relearn cap 20g..

Glad they left in the cross-faction duels though.

Well...you log in, it says a patch is available and automatically downloads then installs it. You start up, log in and play. Patches never take me more than a minute or so to download. As for the nerfs, etc. Well they are being called for by the community for the most part so people never really worry about them :]

Theres not really much there that could be complained about. Paladins might complain about Seal of the Crusader being fixed, but its not really a nerf, its just now doing what it was meant to do all along.

I'm glad they finally fixed the problems with group loot though, thats been annoying me for aaaaaaaaages. Not a big thing, but nice to see its been addressed :)

Yeah that group loot patch was a ninja-patch. Blizzard forgot to tell people, and one day I was running around with some mates and though "wait a minute... group loot seems to be working.". Now if they can fix the god damn tab selection bug I will be a happy camper.

tab selection bug? you mean the one where you're playing, log out & come back later and all your tabs have been cleared?

In the interests of not starting another wow thread does anyone here play it over dial-up and is it playable? I've played it while shapped with ADSL and it was fine but I would still have full speed uploads when shapped and I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes.

I was going to wait until I moved back to a broadband freindly neighbourhood before I picked up a copy but I just can't wait any goddamn longer.

Nah, its a problem with selecting enemies using the Tab key. At the moment its f***ed, something to do with if an enemy is on the left (or maybe right, can't remember) half of the screen it can't be selected with Tab. Tab is sposed to target nearest enemy and sometimes you can be mashing away on it and it wont select an enemy who is 5 feet away from you, but instead will select an enemy somewhere miles away.

Thats the one khel. It used to work and they broke it at some point. Its very handy for people like me who like to fight using the mouse to aim and the keys to strafe/move/attack. You can tab quickly through the enemies and once the right one is selected, go to town on them.

I find tab rarely even selects an enemy, even if they are close...

Deadly-Fly, I have played on Dialup. I have even played it on Blackrock server. Not so bad. The only times i had issues was when entering stormwind city and it just took a second to get together.

I still play on dial up on my laptop when i am out on business trips and away from my adsl.

Make sure you get the Australian/US one if you want to play with everyone here, the European one uses an entirely different set of servers.

Apparently this patch has a ninja nerf to the Spider Belt. The cooldown has been raised from 0 seconds to 30 minutes. (The Druids rejoice)

Also I've heard (unconfirmed yet) that Mind Control might have developed a bug where you are (in some cases) able to use the abilities of another player (as in pvp) while you mind control them. However this might only be if it's Priest vs Priest and if they're doing something wacky.

I'll have to try it out...

Even in its rather unhelpful state, the tab-target can work, just have to get the position of the mob right - I find a little to the left of center in front of me seems to work.

My night elf priest on Proudmoore is Kheltra (princess of power), and I've got a gnome mage called Blammo as well.

Haven't been around much lately though cos I'm back at uni (and playing kotor 2). Prolly get back on for a bit over the weekend.

If you're looking for a guild, check out Geek Legion, its got some qgl people in it and everyone else in there is generally pretty cool too.
