Hey people......i'm having trouble viewing any form of video media running through my TV-Out card to the TV. I use WMP10 and VCL Player.

Games show up on the tv but no videos. What should i do?

Also could anyone reccomend me a good media player for playing dvd's. Or a free plug in decoder for WMP10......thanks!

mediaplayer classic plays dvd's fine for me without having to install a 3rd party dvd player decoder thing. I may have installed some dvd decoder codec though, can't be sure. As for tv out, no idea sorry.

use power dvd for dvds (it isnt free afaik but it may aswell be, comes with almost every video card now day - ask one of your friends for their disc)

also MPC owns ^^

also for the video out, ive had this problem before, but i havnt had to fix it in soo long... (windows xp media centre now comes with in the righ click menu 'play on my tv' and it fixes the output problem)..

shiiit, i cant for the life of me remember how to fix it, how useless am i

just a hunch, but by disabling video overlay in wmp you might be able to get it to work

You have to set up your tv out card to make the TV the primary and the computer monitor your secondary. You can't have two video's running at the same time on both a monitor and a TV, although some types of media will work whilst some won't.

Yeah gotta grab PowerDVD from somewhere....only heard good things!

Thanks benneth! I set my monitor as the primary and the tv as the secondary. Then i just drag the media player to the other screen and full screen it. Its a bit of a hassle, but until i can get something which does it automatically it'll do just fine! Not very l33t but hey does the job!

Jem, where is this windows xp media center? Are you refering to Windows Media Player 10? First i gotta find an appropriate plug in, but once i get one this would be a bit better than the other optoin!

Thanks for the help everyone!
