Some of you may have had contacts on your msn list try to send you files such as:

"Beautiful Ass.pif, John Kerry as Super Chicken.scr, Kool.pif, Me & you pic!.pif, Me Pissed!.pif, sexy.pif, She Could Fit her Ass in a Teacup.pif, she's f***in fit.pif, titanic2.jpg.pif"

This is an msn virus trying to send itself to others through MSN Messenger. If you have seen people trying to send you any of those files (unknowingly - the virus sends these files itself without the "sender" knowing) please check the link below for more information and removal instructions.

Cheers.

There is also a new version of messenger 6.2 (6.2.0205) that corrects a exploitable buffer overflow.

A security issue has been identified that could allow an attacker to compromise your Windows-based system and gain control over it. You can help protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Microsoft Link.

You'd think a billion dollar corporation that built not only the messenger program, but also the underlying operating system software .. would be more certain as to whether you 'have' to restart your computer or not, following such an update. Jesus.

bloody heardy's trying to send me s*** now :)

there was a virus a while ago that just wouldn't take no for an answer it'd keep requesting you accept it over and over and over until you accepted it. Then once you got infected, it even installed a nice little readme file on how to delete it. I lol'd at that msn "virus".

Dude .. 98 & ME always need a restart. Sometimes the OS takes the initiative and does it for you when you're doing something important :)

Time to help the village idiot people!

I've got this worm.......its not doing anything to my computer but it still annoys me that its there. I have msn 6.7 so its not irratically sending files to everyone, but yeah its still there so does anyone know how to get rid of it?

I have W32.Bropia.M
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.bropia.m.html

Those instructions are bull. If i try to run a system scan Norton picks the virus up, but it is unable to delete it. It just keeps telling me that i have the virus and it keeps going in a never ending loop which results in a restart.

So yeah should i just hope for a new virus removal tool from symantec?
The w32.Bropia and w32.Bropia.J removal tools dont remove the .M version.

you're a mr stupid head, you stupid head. :p

They say that because they can't possibly know what programs you're using at the time of installation, if you're using one that's locked a file the installer needs to update you'll either have to close it or reboot to let it update the file.
