SHARK TALE
The sea underworld is shaken up when the son of the shark mob boss is found dead and a young fish named Oscar is found at the scene. Being a bottom feeder, Oscar takes advantage of the situation and makes himself look like he killed the finned mobster. Oscar soon comes to realize that his claim may have serious consequences.

Pretty cool movie ruined by R&B music and Will Smith's character talking like a dumb-ass-punk homeboy. Robert DeNiro and Jack Black's characters were awesome which made the movie alot more enjoyable. Animation was f***ing amazing too!

OCEAN'S TWELVE
Set three years after "Ocean's 11," this sequel shows us Danny Ocean gathering up his complete gang of con artists and thieves from the first film in New York City before they all jet off to Amsterdam, Rome, and Paris to pull off three seperate heists. All the while, the boys must deal with increasing pressure from a very mad Terry Benedict, a dedicated Europol agent with a link to Rusty's past, and a mysterious French rival known as the "Night Fox." Will Ocean's crew reach their full potential and become the greatest thieves the world has ever known, or will they fall victim to Benedict's revenge? All bets are off.

Rubbish, absolute rubbish!

Hey, let's tell a story and then when it get's to the end surprise the audience by telling them what really f***ing happened that the movie didn't show at all. I'm all for surprise endings, The Usual Suspects was great, but the ending to this is pure ass. It would be like watching the original Star Wars movie and after the Death Star is blown up it cuts back to Darth Vader saying, "Hey, the Rebels didn't really blow it up, we staged the whole thing." Wrong my negro!! Endings like this are a cop out and doesn't get the viewer thinking about what's going on and what-not. Complete rubbish and I'm surprised I sat thru the whole thing.

FLIGHT OF THE PHEONIX
A group of air crash survivors are stranded in the Mongolian desert with no chance of rescue. Facing a brutal environment, dwindling resources, and an attack by desert smugglers, they realize their only hope is doing the impossible... building a new plane from the wreckage of the old one.

Really enjoyed this movie. It's a remake of the 1965 movie of the same title which I haven't seen so I can't compare. Although it does have Dennis Quade and Miranda Otto so that must count for something. Some really awesome effects, like when the plane crashes at the beginning, make this movie worth watching. Giovanni Ribisi's character was most crappy and was extremely annoying. Twas trying to figure out what the hell he was meant to be, sounded alot like a damn Nazi and almost dressed like one too. Anyway, cool movie but the ending is a bit ass. Finished too suddenly for my liking.

There you go, three quick movie reviews.

Ocean's 12 was alright, but felt really cobbled together compared to the first one :\

Open Water was complete ass. Right from the beginning and that stupid music was playing you could tell it was gonna be crap.

That's because in the original the character he plays was a German radio-controlled aircraft designer... they used his engineering skills to rebuild the plane and fly to safety...

I'm reserving my opinion, I've seen the original twice and I'm thinking it'll be quite hard to top it...

EDIT: I just saw the trailer and... oh dear... nothing like the original, almost entirely lacks the charm of the original. And the woman? There was no woman in the original, which was half of its appeal...

I get out Flight of the Phoenix, simply to compare it to the original. If you get a chance check out the original film, as it really is an under-rated gem.

Also the charatcer Giovani is playing was played in the original by a well-known german actor Hardy Kruger who actually was a soldier during WW2. Not sure if he was an actual 'Nazi'.

I agree Ocean's 12 was utter s***e, and the Julia Roberts thing was the worst plot device ever conceived in a movie.

Yeah, Ocean's Twelve was really, really, really bad. I reckon it would have been embarressing to be one of the main actors. Also, I find alot of movies that are set in European cities just don't feel right. It was like when Jackie Chan filmed First Strike in locations around QLD. It was very cringe-worthy, just like his movies.

Flight of the Phoenix looks aight (Dennis Quaid is aaawesome) so haven't read your review yet. I totally agree with Ocean's 12. What an absolute piece of ass that was, with the exception of Bruce Willis' cameo, of course. I should have just left after he did to avoid having to put up with the rest of the movie.

shark's tale was rad. visuals were just awesome and i found myself laughing a lot, when i am not really an animaation kind of person.

oceans twelve was boring and mopstly confusing. i think they were trying to be too clever.

also best movie i have seen in a way long time was aviator. (gold class last night). leonardo just keeps getting better as does scorsese. this will become a classic imo.

werd to the aviator... great movie. i thought sharks tail was alright... same as rev.evil the wiggyness of will smith put me off it a bit. i havent seen oceans twelve or flight of the pheonix.
another movie i saw recently & thought was a cool idea was 'eternal sunshine of the spotless mind'. jim carrey actually can act without pulling silly faces! ;D

Open water is the one movie to this day that has made me consider walking out. It got to the point where I said "If <this> doesn't happen within the next two minutes I'm outta here". Well, it did, so I didn't walk out but it was s***.

Hell, I've sat through New York Minute and Dumb and Dumber and not walked out.

yer it takes a lot for me to walk away from a movie too, even if i hate it i still watch it through just so that i *can* say i saw it all and didn't judge it too soon. if i was at a cinema i would have walked out of open water. i was at home and had hired it for $1, i was getting up every 5 mins doing shiz though 'cos i couldn't stand just sitting there (if that makes sense). only movie i have walked out of was 7 years in tibet.

LoL this is no BS but my mum was an extra in Jackie Chans 1st strike.

Shes in it for 3 secs at the end just b4 jackie drives the red FTO into a boat at the Mooloolaba Spit.

I love my mum but she is a crappy actress.

The Aviator started out as a really great movie, but when detailing things in his life, i recon they focused on the wrong details and for too long. Way too long. They could've cut hours out of the movie if they'd lopped off all the OCD stuff. The guys got mental problems, i got it, get on with the interesting things he did in his life, don't make me sit in a darkened theater with him for months as his beard grows and he fills even more bottles of piss.

conatains spoilers.

re aviator - as one of the reviews on imdb said, his mental illness is the whole issue. his relationships with other people don't really matter in the end, because it is the battle raging inside his own mind which fuels his creativity and greatness.

i loved seeing him struggle with his obsessive compulsiveness and reclusiveness. i also loved seeing him at the end almost come to grips with it during the senate hearings only to come unravelled again. while the other characters may have been neglected a bit (i admit) at least i got to know hughes' character very well, so i was satisfied in that respect.

Yes that is an awesome movie, one of, if not the best movie in 2004. Excellent acting and plot, eventhough it was slightly confusing at first it sort of fall in together beautifully in the end. It has element of Sci-Fi but that's not really the whole point of the movie.

Jim Carey has shown that he's actually a pretty decent serious actor in this movie and the rest of the cast were awesome as well, even Elijah Wood was quite good ... :)

IMO, I think this movie should win the Oscar. :)

5/5 from me :)
