Alienware, one of the leading makers of Gamer specific PC's, with some of the funkiest looking boxes you'll see on the market, backed up with some seriously powerful specs have finally come to Australia.

For those of you that have been living under a rock, Alienware have been quite active in the support of the large US game events, and one of the few companies that focus their products squarely at the gamer. I just wonder who will be the skank that turns up at a LAN with one of those bad boys under their arms!

Head on over to the Alienware Australian site for a look at the funky pc's!

obviously neither do these guys, or they'd be aware of the rigourously enforced "don't say old" policy

I use an Antec Sonata case. I think that's pretty tasteful.

you can get the Alienware cases from the disk shop...seen them at the mansfield one think they were $60

i use an Antec SOHO file server case personally but i remember someone here wanting to buy the case alone

Well I don't know where my post went, but here it is again:

Alienware has never and probably will never sell their cases seperate.

Aww the cool looking cases are $125 :(

If they were only $60 I'd be very tempted :)

So discshop is selling cheap clones of their cases?

By the looks of things yes, from the pic I couldnt see any difference, and by alienware's disclaimer its highly illegal to copy their logo and design so I dunno.

Probably cause the clones are made in some dodgy place in asia and shipped here and attempting to sue them from the US is basically impossible.

They could still sue the Australian sellers/distributors.

Wonder how good those replica cases are?

That would be as easy as trying to sue the dodgy manufacturers, suing internationally is a f***ing massive pain in the ass jurisdictionwise AFAIK. I have done a uni IT law subject so I do know a very limited bit about proceedings, any law buff feel free to correct me :)

in any case, if you want one of those cases, snap them up from the disc shop while you can just in case ;)

Read that.. This consumer is going overboard.. He can't even wait one extra day for a laptop. and he starts ringing em and hassling them... What a toss.

Man I have to wait 2 weeks for my pc and I aint complaining...

I'm sure if you put an alien ware system next to an identical generic system but bought from say Umart or something, the umart PC would be considerably cheaper... ???
