hello

I have an .avi file here I would like to add my own captions to.

Ive tried using windows movie maker (import -> add titles), but its annoying to work with and generally dosnt give the effect I want.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a program that will do a better job, they should tell me in this thread that Im making here.

sonic foundry vegas? You can get a trial version of it, but don't try anything too complicated as the trial version doesn't allow you to save files, which I thought was quite gay.

edit: what effects do you want it to do anyway? You mean like drop shadow, glow, bevel & emboss & other crap like photoshop & stuff can do?

nah this is nothing to do with my videos.

Well, not really.

Just want something that can add subtitles to a video quickly and easily. Windows Movie Maker takes some serious f***ing around, and this project needs heaps and heaps of subtitles.

Itll be good if I pull it off tho :)

Im playing with this vobsub thing more andI still havent seen anywhere to type s*** :(
