Stop.
Think.
Save your money.

You're not going to get anything markedly better than your GF4Ti in terms of performance for $200.

I get 40fps with my ti4200 in hl2dm on 1024x768 low detail. It's not that bad.

I got a 6600gt for christmas (that Albatron one actually), haven't installed it in my PC yet though, only just got home from my parents place.

You do realise that Umart is closed until the 4th of January though dont you?

you can't really jump up to the next level with only $200...
Unless you can get a 9800 pro 2nd hand cheap or a fx5900 you'd be wasting your time/money.

If you expect to get you're order pretty fast, I won't count on it because of the amount of back orders there are after xmas & NYD

CA is open and has the Albatron cards, but you'll be paying an extra $30. Depends how badly you want it I guess, $30 to get it right now :)

Is the Albatron 128MDDR FX6600GT much better if at all than the Radeon 9600XT 256MDDR /128Bit AGP8X Gigabyte VIVO ?

Well, I used to have a 9600xt (128mb though, not 256mb), and I installed my new Albatron 6600gt today, and I'm getting almost double the performance, so yeah I'd say its significantly better :)

my buddy at work does nothing else but sit on toms hardware excitedly awaiting the next graph release (regardless of what its for, cpus, vid cards, raid)

then he prints them out and studies them for ages

I run dual 6600gt's :) so I guess one on its own would still be good.

Mines an AGP 6600gt, so no chance for SLI lovin :(

Actually, that brings up a question, whats the actual performance like on SLI 6600gts versus say a single 6800 ultra? Have you benched anything on the SLI cards and compared it at all? Would be interesting to see how it stacks up because $$$ wise its prolly about the same (or close to).
