Is this game out now? Also, is it exactly the same as the first one, like only nighttime levels? Also, does the AI still cheat?

lol at the iced out speedo

prolly gonna buy this one, looks good..
I too am wondering, is the map essentially the same as the last one...same looking night time city?
If so, that sucks, but I'll get it anyway..
Someone list the good 'new' features this one has over the last one.

differnet levels to the first one
different setup (u drive around looking for races)

yes the ocmptuer still uses cheaty AI, but seriously, if the computer is beating you, car games arent for you

its still fun doing up your car and even more fun drifting

i cant wait my car is betterer

The cheaty AI isnt about being beaten..it's about you not being able to put a big lead on them, no matter how many times they crash or how fast you go and then if you accidentally f***up near the end they just over take you and win, forcing you to re-do a 7 lap race that it gets annoying..

It essential to get a good rice rating to be able to do stuff other than show it off?

If so, that sucks!

Yeah I used to hate the cheaty AI of the first NFSU but I have not been frustrated at any stage playing the game yet. If anything, the AI cars crash and f***up alot more.

Seriously, it's an awesome game and so much better than the original. If you liked the first one at all, then you will love this. Heaps of cars, and you can tune them so hardcore.

I just love ricing a bitch up and taking it for a spin around the city.

Ricing up is half of what NFSU/2 is all about. If it wasn't I'd probably have some s***-looking stock car that doesn't have Nos nozzles, neons or truck audio.

Plus setting up your car for DVD cover shoot is fun. Get in the Game.

Man, Juiced was a much, much more fun game than this :(

Between the f***** cheaty AI, stupid f***ing blurry graphics, and terrible car models, Juiced is by far the better rice game.

Still this is a bit of fun.

lol dafugg...wondering if i should post my riced SUV drifter on here ;)

lol, but yeah - awesome game, i like it 100% better than the first, and i really liked the first - theres a lot more choice in how u progress in this one (ie - u cant finish a race - like that goddamn drag with the 4 lanes of oncoming traffic :@ - so u just go find another race to complete for the sponsers) and its got quite a few good ideas added to it - outrun mode, unlocking parts by finding new stores, dvd shoots etc not to mention fairly solid LAN support ^_^

edit - and err, is juiced out yet? or only demo - my bro pre-ordered for xbox and still hasnt got it...i thought the company went bankrupt :S

Here's the two cars I'm playing with at the moment. I'm not very far into the game so I don't have access to lots of stuff yet.

I have to say I think the game is pretty fun and and the graphics are quite good.

For anyone having problems with an ass looking road, im talking like 1mm x 1mm pixel chunks, turn the road refelction detail to max. Was the only thing that'd make mine look nice and smoothed, any lower setting and pixel city!

I was surprised cause NFSU2 ran better on my system than number 1! I had all the blurs and light trails and everything on bar AA and it ran flawlessly in 800 x 600.

Here my hachi I was playing with early in the game.
http://mark.mongie.net/NFSUhachi.jpg

Heres my wide bodied stang... most of the bodykits suck arse, I always struggle to find one that doesn't look too retarded, thats the least retarded looking one IMO :)

Ok. I'm stuck and need help please!

I've got a visually stock 240SX with all the level 1 performance upgrades. I've done all of the Stage 1 races, completed the sponsor's contract, and done the 2 magazine covers.

So now I've got no races to do. :(
Help!

Edit: Ok. So maybe I haven't completed the sponsor's contract... Then how the hell do I complete it?! :/

Ok. I like this game, BUT! Having to rice your car to advance throughout the game is s***!

I feel violated.

Currently this is how my car looks... After completing Stage 1. (1 Star rice)

http://img87.exs.cx/img87/3559/240sx.jpg

Now the absolute head bashing part comes in...Once achieving Stage 2 they want you to rice it more to reach 3 Star rice level to continue.

Ecstacy you get more slots for other "sponsor" cars.

Keep you racer looking stock as a rock but tricked out performancewise, and then have a dedicated rice mobile show car for when you need to get on a magazine/dvd cover.

Only problem with my 86 was that I didn't wanna put a wing on it, but without a wing it has quite a bit less stability on the track and as you get on later in the game you really need it to stay competitive.

I ended up having a dedicated track car, drag car and showcar.

The stang was by far the most powerful and will outdrag anything, however I also found it awesome for drift as well due to the massive power and torque it has to just keep spinning those wheels forever :)

Yea thats what my GTO is like rubba :)

I riced up all my cars for the star rating, then finished the game, then took off all the crap so they are back to the way I like em. (Honestly, how does a roof scoop make a car look better? :)

When you finish it you unlock everything for your car for Quick race, which might be the same for lan. So you can make as many cars as you want then.

I've currently set aside my 240sx for a while and am having heaps of fun with the IS300. The engine note is very very nice, but the best thing is how tail happy it is.

I love cars that throw the back out at the slightest provocation :D

Haven't used any of the FWD cars yet, cause drifting in them is just plain wrong.

I heard the guys at nudgeelan played this game a fair bit on saturday, wish i went now :(

At the moment all i have is my little 306 GTI and a nissan sentra that i got buyers remorse on and it's sitting there stock.

I don't plan to buy another car until i unlock the Skyline.

Yeah, my Tiburon has lasted me most of the game. I've only just unlocked the RX-7, so I guess I'm pretty close to the really decent cars. Cause this is my ricer and my racer, it's the best it can be, so until a stock car can outperform this baby, there's no need to upgrade til I get the best one.

Macca you can get some really 'sick' rice upgrades this time round.. its alot of fun to race and the storyline is just enough there to keep you interested - but not too much in your face... which is good for a racing game =)
rubba-chikin
Posts: 4241

I got sick of the storyline, the races became very repetitive and I got bored of doing a million races against lame AI opponents. I didn't mind drift/drag and street X but the street racing gave me the s***s bigtime. URL's were bearable but often shat me off with the catchup :/

I just got a save game 55% done with all the parts and 95% of the cars unlocked and finished it from there.

Well mainly cause HL2 came out the next day and NFSU2 just got brushed aside :)
Wasabi

yeah I agree im about 55% finished as well...and im like wtf...what else is there to do :/ boring...

But i found out if you do out run raced supposedly thats how can get unique upgrades...when u get that sms saying "you man heard there was some noobies racing over here blah blah" think you drive over there and race em...
SloCrow

You get unique upgrades by beating the same car multiple times-there are only a couple of uniques per stage though.

I have a question though, I have a full level 3 mx5 with all unique mods and a lvl 3 rx8. The turbo boost on the rx8 only ever goes up to 20 while the mx5 always hits 30. Anyone else noticed it happen to them. Is it because of the unique parts on the mx5?

I don't see how tuning it can and will change it. I have noticed it increase as I put larger turbos on. But, I haven't had much tuning success-any changes that I make just seem to make the car slower.

sif StreX, I build all my cars in a "D1" sort of style...hence the black racing rims (completely non-gay), drift GT wing, orange/black colour scheme, racing decals + vinyls, carbon fibre bonnet, and vertex/GP style bodykit.

Your Audi is way too shick muzza for me :) Plus its rear bar looks like a curly mustache, and as I'm sure you know, mustaches are undeniably gay.

I won some custom parts and it wanted me to pick a set of 19" rims for the IS300...they boosted my Style rating by about 0.6 points but they all looked so s***house I couldn't bring myself to use them hehe.

Actually the graphics are really quite good if you put them on high at a half decent resolution.

Also i find the game entertaining but if you close it you think its boring - but when you open it up again and get rolling then it seems to grow on you again.

Hmm I've been mucking around with upgrading most of the cars, and nothing even comes close to the AE86 in terms of control around the test circuit.. It's the best by a long way!! Haven't tried the other events yet.. Anybody have any feedback for them?
