it makes sense, all those supercars in a country where cops dont really give a crap how fast you drive on the highway.

although, since one of his brothers made him go 'bankcrupt' i doubt he'll be able to add anymore recent supercars to his collections.

here's the car that they used for one of his sons wedding recently.

Its very impressive and all but why? Such a waste just letting the cars sit there all the time :S.
I wouldn't mind being one of the mechanics there "I'll have to take these few thousand cars out for a test drive".

rumour is, he has drivers driving all of them across the country at fast as they could go. i've been on those highways before, it is possible, no cars around whatsoever.

you can reach one end of the country (from the other end) in an hour and a half driving w/ average speed of 140km/hr.

Most of it seems like a waste to me. Besides, I wouldn't buy most of those cars even if I had the money.

Only a few car there I like anyway.

Quite a few of those cars would gain value rather than lose it, so it's an investment.

... Not that he needs any more money

My dad had to escort his wife and kids when they were here for chogm and he said they just have no concept of money, they just look at something and they throw $$$ around.

Also nice garage =)

I guess if he only got them as an investment it's not a waste as driving them would take away some value probably.
If he bought them just for the heck of it and not drive them then that is a waste.

Im sure he does drive them, although having multiples of the same car seems wasteful

He has no concept of money? The man runs a country and just to oversee the managment of his funds would need a better understanding of finance than the vast majority of the population. He doesn't need to concern himself with the comparitive pittance that is required for him to function in public to have a concept of money.

What would you guys consider a waste anyway? I'd bet by the standard you apply to this sultan, you waste almost every penny you've earned.

I meant his family have no concept of money, they just throw the s*** around =/

And thats the best part about his country, he shares around his $$$ rather than just spending it on himself (which he obviously still spends alot on himself :P)

It's also a kind of service to the car-loving public at large.

These cars will probably be preserved in extremely good condition, and will end up being excellent examples of the workmanship of their time in 100 years, when many of the cars of today are rusting hulks or scrap.
