I just wanna know which party has the toughest policies on piracy and who wants to invade our privacy the most. All to do with the net of course.
If they both suck with net issues then what is the best smaller party?

Sorry, did you just ask "I just want to know which party is going to let me pirate whatever the hell I want, without fear of reprisal?"

The elections are just an opportunity to stick the entire country into a catch 22, damned if we do, damned if we don't, cause no matter what the party that gets in will just f*** us over :-(

What I would like to do (time permitting, which is unlikely given the timeframe) is set up a website somewhere which lists all the parties and all their polices, particularly those that are of interest to "us" (ie, 18-30 male nerd-types) for comparison purposes.

Largely because I know all we're going to get on TV is just the bulls*** that the media choose to show us, which is obviously just going to be the bickering, based on what I saw today.

I problem is who to vote for as my second preference! :/

Wouldnt it be great if somone published a book or similar where all running political parties and candidates could outline their basic policies and beliefs in an "x words or less" format.
Then the common joe who is confused on who to vote for, could just take a quick glance and at least have a SOMEWHAT educated opinion.

Im farily confident in who im voting for this year, but I can certainly see how confusing it is with those that dont keep up with current events. Donkey voting only helps the two party system.

Anyone have a link to one of those online radio button polls for Australians that quiz you a bunch of questions then tell you which party is the closest to your beliefs?

I'll be voting Gore without a doubt. Mandela has misled the public for his 4 year interim reign and I'm sick and tired of his BS "It was the dog's fault" universal response.

Australia doesn't have a 2-party system though.

I'm gonna vote for my 100% down doona. I whole-heartedly agree with its warmth polices. In the bedding manchester environment that we live in today, I feel its the right choice. Some 'people' have tried to sling mud on my doona's campaign, but we all know it's because they are threatened by the sleeping leadership that my doona displays.

Voting for policy? Since when has policy been any indication of whether or not something will be done?

If I could - and I can't cause I'm not a citizen yet - I'd vote for whoever reduced the tax on petrol. Sucking 60% or so of each $. Bastards.

I dont care about tax cuts because we need more money pumped into our country, but i hate paying taxes, i dont care about whether or not burqas are banned, i believe that many muslim girls are forced to wear it, but if they are banned from public schools then they will be shipped off to privare muslim schools widening the cultural gap, i dont care if johnny makes empty promises, all major polititions lie, i dont care, i dont care, the only thing that im particularly pissed off about right now is the government trying to give themselves the right to search any email message cause they feel like it, this is just one step closer to them monitoring what i download, piracy is an issue of its own, you all have your own opinions on it, but i believe they should target the people making a living off of it not the general user. Which is what they are doing now, great, but dont invade my privacy to do it.

My point isnt very clear and i have a lot more to say, but i am not going to write any more, nor am i going to rewrite this, this is an opinion, not an attack at you, so dont flame me

OMFG! ...You people (Queenslanders) amaze me.

Most of you seem to only think about your ego-centric selves in the Short Term!

If there is to be any future for both yourselves, the world and future generations, then stop f***ing around and start learning about the world around you in which you live in. Otherwise, at this rate there won't be a future and none of you idiots will have the latest technology, games, sex life or internet access.

Grow up and stop being so stupid.

if you ask me its time for the liberal/nationals to get out. labour is getting my vote, johnny's attitude is pathetic and i dont really think he has what it takes to initiate positive change in australia, latham at least has a clue and the balls to stand up and not let other people push him around.

I'd vote for David Palmer. Sure he went astray a little in the last series, but he's still a very trustworthy person.

Well at least two pages and not one reply saying who this guy should vote for :\

Clearly, he should be voting for the Communist Party of Australia.

http://www.zipworld.com.au/~cpa/index.html

Communist Russia had no copyright laws at all, as a matter of fact copyright law is a relatively recent thing in Russia. There might be some privacy concerns regarding them but you can't have everything.

Best politician quote of all time - and the most honest:
Clin-ton: We must go forward, not backward, upward, not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom.
