I contacted asus directly about my motherboard, asking if i could put it through the RMA process, or if i could order a Tua-266 Motherboard directly from them as i have no idea on where to get them locally since they are old boards..
Anyway, they sent me a 68 page list of Asus resellers who are located in Brisbane and told me to contact one of them and ask about getting it repaired at their store :S (since i bought it 2nd hand from ebay) I have no idea on which store to go through, so first off, i was wondering if anyone knows of an Asus reseller who i could request to order in one of these boards brand new for me? Otherwise, who should i turn to for cheap motherboard repairs? I reckon that the problem is most probably todo with a bad bios/chip, otherwise a circutry fault (doubtful as everything powers up as it should, but the board just doesnt post/beep) Board Model: Asus Tua-266 Bios: (Sticker on chip says:) 1003 Manual: http://www.unitycorp.co.jp/support/download/manual/370/tua266_e.pdf Cpu type: Celeron, P3, Tualatin cores Ram: DDR266, SDram IDE: ATA100 Rev: 1.01 (this is also why itd be better to get a new one) A google search shows the altech used to sell this board, as an ex-demo for the retail price of $55, so i figure itd probably be cheaper if i could just find a dealer who can order it directly from Asus :s (doubt altech will) Edit: list of resellers they sent -> http://chillz.net/asus%20resellers1.doc |

wot he said
www.achieva.com.au , Achieva Technology. are the main distributor for asus in australia and brisbane I'd say they will do it if you are willing to pay for service....time and labour to put the board through RMA and mebbe freight. I work for a wholesaler and have delt with Achieve a fair bit...If you treat them righ they will look after you. |

Ill send a fax through to achieva after i work out what exactly i should ask them? (hints :p?)
If the repair cost adds up, do you know, as a main asus distributor, would they be able to order in a whole new board (but a later revision)? |
