Ok, default password for a Compaq Presario 4830..
I've taken the battery out, which is what got me into this trouble.. it reset the password back to the factory one. I didn't buy it new, so I dont have the manual. Googling came up with this, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documentIndex?product=92849&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&dlc=en not much help there. |

I found this: If you don't remember the password, to disable it, you need to access the motherboard, and remove the jumper off P11 for 10 seconds. If you do know the password, to clear it, simply type the password in followed by a slash (/).
But this is propably not for your type of computer... so you might need to find a the differend jumper on the Motherboard... |
