Now. Ive set up a file serve with a few large drives. I want to rip all my dvds and play them to my tv.

Whats a good application?

DVD Decrypter to rip
and Gordian Knot to encode.

Are you going to encode them? If you have enough space why not just make some images and load them off a virtual drive. Not sure what programs you'd use but you would be able to keep all the menus and extra features of the DVD.

DVD Decrypter is the way to go.

if u wanaa rip entire dvds and just play the vobs ur looking at probably 4.7gig per dvd.

most dvd players will vobs from ur hdd

eg. power dvd, also zoom player.

most basic way is

Smart ripper
then play the files off the hard drive with powerdvd.

Mod your xbox, smartripper dvds to your PC, play over network or copy to xbox hd.

This also gives you the benefit of not tieing up your pc running dvd software whenever you want to watch a movie.

If you don't have a modded box, baldbouncer sells them for 189quid.
