hey, jsut bought a benq FP737 and the native res is 1280x1024, i want to change the res to 1024x768 but it wont let me, keeps saying its out of range.... theres gota be a way to change the res.

EDIT: And has windows detected it as that monitor not a default? |

ive installed the drivers that came with it but it says that its still "plug and play" monitor. maybe they didnt name the driver O_o
vid card? this monitor was for me uncle and he has some 8 meg onboard thing... |

ok i ofund out benq didnt give me all the drivers on the cd... and the website has dl for the 737s but the driver thats in there in 731....relaly really fkn gay

new problem...the res is now 1024 (after renaming the driver files and tricking windows) but dam is it suppose to look so crap when its out of its native resoultion? is there any way to fix this?

TFT is the type of LCD.
Stands for thin film transistor or something. |

Thats because LCDs and TFTs have a specific number of pixels.
So you either run it at native resolution or you accept the ugliness of it. Just run it at 1280x1024 and increase the text size if thats the issue. |

yer i thought as much :(. its just that my uncle uses the computer for alot of net browsing and stuff and increasing text size doesnt seem to work for alot of the pages he frequents... wouldnt suppose thers a fix to that?

man use Opera you can set the size of the text in the browser with th zoom drop down menu...

After going back to computeralliance ive found out that its just BENQ being a really really s*** brand. they refunded my purchase with store credit and bought myself a 19" samsung 192N. beautiful.
ps: DONT FKN TOUCH BENQ LCD's. that is all |

My Mitsu DV172 doesnt look too bad in 1024 but it beats me why youd want everything that giant :)

CSIRAC it magnifies the whole page... and because Opera uses tabbed browsing you can just set one page or all to a magnified size... great for peeps who are a lil short sighted...

Thats some wierd problems. I have the 767 version 1, never had problems changing res and it looks fine if its not in native res.
