i have have recently gotten, and finished, the new Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne. As on the first Max Payne, at the end of the credits we are given a message indicating that another Max Payne is in the making.
Ever since finishing the game i've been wondering what would be in it, and also, because I've a bit of an interest in seeing a film series based on the game, weather it would be good to have it in that series or to have the film series end at MP2.

So i have decided to start this thread to what other people think would and/or should be in Max Payne 3.

Hehehe.....You're VERY keenl,MP2 was a GREAT update from the original MP,and i recommend ANYONE to check it out,GFX engine has been greatly overhauled and great that it sticks with the story.
I havent watched the movie however, have completed MP1 on PS2,not yet completed MP2 on PC,but WHAT a game!
I cant say what id LIKE to see in MP3,as theyve done so much with MP2,it would be hard to assume anything of MP3 yet, however whatever it is you saw in the credits must be 'under construction' so id say the company can't make MP2 look bad,Unless they use the same engine,i think it'll be DX9 based Gfx by the time it comes out or They use the same engine, end the story, end of MP series....

Oh s***, i hope this hasn't been another failed thred, my last thred on this didn't seem to do that well. Come on theres got to me more people out there who have got, and possible finished, MP2 and give some comment on it.

further on that last comment about Max Payne 3 being the last, i believe that is quite possible, and so it should. I would say some more on that but I'll possible wait until i get some more comments. also their isn't actually any MP based movies, at least non that i've heard of, but it would be cool.

both games were way too short, so max payne 3 should be longer

Thats a good point on the length of the game. Max Payne 2 I found was much shorter than Max 1. Max 3 should be much longer than the previous two.

And I see where your going with the difficulty question, I've also played on 'Dead On Arrival', quite interesting. Would say more but waiting for more responces before I say anything more about area, but I will say its a interesting little secret.

Anyone else found any other secrets?

ummm guns were much better in mp2 but i need more!! i basically only used the ingrams, mp5 and Kalishankov at the start, then m4 carbine at the end. I know it would be unrealistic as, sif he can carry like 20 guns lol, but maybe some type of m60, that would b fun as :)

I recently watched a special on urban combat, they had some pretty good stuff in it, got me thinking, thou Max 2's AI work was quite good, it could have been better in parts (there were to many points where enemies hit over enemies).

in Max 3 more work needs to be done on the AI to improve how they work togethers and incorporate some real urban combat tactics. maybe even add in some more parts where Max is part of team (like the part with the mobster in the street). Might be good to had a part where max gets to be part of a SWAT team or something.

Another thing i would like to mention, that could also be good in a number of other games (like cs and etc), is a auto-gunswitch option that automaticly switches the gun your using, when it empty, to a full one, instead of reloading, because the time it takes to reload sometimes is longer than pulling out a new gun (in games and in reality, its a real urban combat tactic to pull out an alternate gun when your main gun is empty).

final, in both max 1 and 2, there is a news article with a picture of Max and Alex from max 1, in it, i wouldn't mind getting a bit more information on this article in Max 3, maybe make it part of a flash ba at the start of the game.

sorry for some of the spelling misstakes. i was ment to put in finally, at the start of the last part, and back where i put in ba in the last part. I was a bit distracted.

mp series should be made as good as possible. and mp3 chould be a directx10 game. with even more believable graphics and physics. i'll tolerate all the time they'll take to make it, but as long as it suprises me like the first 2, and maybe more.

If the Max Payne games were any longer, methinks the story would get neglected. MP2 was a great length for a story based action game.

MP3 should maybe have ... maybe not nonlinearity, but a few story branches.

Maybe add in some martial arts stuff.

Thats a good idea, adding martial arts, but, it may affect the storyline a bit, in a similar way to how you thing lengthening the games may alter it. Maybe add a little bit of martial arts to it, based on some of the police self-defence training.

Can't wait to get a version of the Kung Foo mod for MP2.

lol....im still hanging out for a matrix style mod for mp2, coz the engine is perfect for it and theres already bullet time. just add some bullet trails, kung fu and new character models :)

i think that branches in the story of MP3 would make the game way better than it already is. it would mean that the game would be longer and maybe having alternate endings would be good, therefore making u want to play it again to take a different path and see a different ending. i think that kung fu or martial arts moves would make MP3 too much like the enter the matrix and the matrix moves.

If they took MP2 and added kung fu, it would easily be far better than Enter the Matrix.

But that's the point; it's not meant to be a Matrix game. They have the perfect engine for one, but that's not what they've set out to achieve.

Damn Strait. This is Max Payne not The Matrix. Kung Fu is better kept as a sepret mod, rather than having it as a part of the main game. Maybe a small amount could be added, like some extra punchs or whatever, but thats about it.

Max Payne, to me, is all about kicking arse. It can have kung fu and still be Max Payne. It's still comparable to the Matrix even without kung fu because of the gunfights. The main difference being the story & setting.

can we get off this kung fu biz, if Remedy wanted kung fu anyway, they would have added it the Max Payne 2, same as what the did with the MP5, AK-47, and any otherweapons that were added.
