I dont know how I let this one slip past my radar, but its looking pretty farking awesome. Its being made by the same guys who made Battle Realms. Check out the preview at Gamespot.

Post to make khel feel like hes loved. But yeah, I reckon it looks like it has potential. Battle realms was good if its anything to go by.

Did anyone else notice this at the end of the preview/review... a demo of the game. Gotta be signed up with the site and im too tired to go looking now but anyway. Somone will find a download source no doubt :)

Heh, I just changed the title to Lord of the Rings instead of LOTR, because I couldn't comprehend why nobody would be interested in a Lord of the Rings RTS, so I figured people just didn't know what I meant.

I had a guy at our local EB telling me that it's using the warcraft3 engine or something...

Must get around to grabbing the demo tho, as it does look like a fair bit of fun.. "heree frodo...come closer.....I want to tickle you with my Elephant troops..."

I played the demo and it needs a warning of "May cause epileptic fits". Textures were all over the place and flickering on and off.

Check out the screenshots for the Battle for Middle Earth, the other LOTR RTS game. I reckon these look better.

There will be two different games for almost every LOTR title, because there are two licenses - one for the books, and one for the movies. Vivendi/Universal (War of the Ring) hold the license for the books, and EA hold the license for the movies.

since all this movie nonsense i've lost some of my fondness for lotr, but this game does look pretty cool

it looks good but also looks very warcraft 3 like.

But still looks pretty, although in the screen shots the units stand out alot in contrast to the enviroment.

They have bright colours on all of the units so they are really easy to see.
