"angle of attack over limit"
blah blah blah

These planes fly like they're bricks with wings.

I couldnt really get a hang of it.
even with afterburners running you couldn't really do very much.

Always going into flat spins from angle of attack being over the limit (which wasn't even really pushing the plane that hard - saw the enemy plane do harder turns without any probs), not to mention the astronomical number of keys to figure out, I could barely lock onto a target :D

Anybody figured this thing out and how to not go over the max. angle of attack all the time? maybe its because Im using keyboard.

I also tried landing the a10 in a paddock. smoothest glide in ever, landing gear down, not going too fast etc, resulting in an instant and rather unexplainable collision/explosion.

i think i found the problem :P

nah, i was looking forward to this, but it's just too advanced and involved for my taste

yeah this is a little too advanced for me as well, i was looking forward to it hoping it would have the dificulty of the f22 lightning series but its much more than that

and yeah that angle of attack thing isnt very fun

I cant install the farking thing - it extracts the files - then goes straight into deleting temporary files without letting me actually install the game... farken

any ideas?

Ah is it one of those uber realistic sims? I was hoping, from some of the trailers, that it was going to be more action oriented and implement a bit more of a "flexible" physics system.

Its been a while since I've played a good action-oriented flight sim, I think Crimson Skies may have been the last one.

now all i have to do is be able to bind my buttons and i might get to fire a weapon - even the keys they say are binded to things dont work...

I was really lookin forward to this game, but so far nothing but frustration - does run quite well on my machine tho

I took these before I began tweaking with the graphics to run best on my system, so there's no sexy shadows or uber effects (which is kind of a shame because my system ran it playable on 1024x768 everything on full except water and heat blur [heat blur tore my GF3 a new one]).

9/11? What day and month is it again?
No i didnt crash into the building

RUH ROH, Engine Fire!
....Wait a minute!

Minimum Speed?
Awww Common Guys?! I told you it handles like a brick with wings!
Now why can't I gain any altitude!?

Quick! Shoot him some more! While he's not getting away!

What it should look like with everything full (except water & heat blur)...
The mirage is easy to nail

High in the sky leaving vapour trails which look ever so cool, heading towards ceiling height [which was 14k from memory]

Does anybody know wtf the deal is with the controls still?
If I hit the afterburners my plane wants to continuously rocket up to a 90 degree angle straight into the sky.
Sometimes (actually alot of the time) it just wants to keep rolling over to the left/right and I have to fight to keep it flying in a straight line.
And this is with no damage to the plane at all.

I have a feeling that this game may be one of those ones that require quite a phat manual :)

Hit Ctrl + C
and you get to blow the canopy off your jet and still fly around ^_^

Gets very noisy from the engine and wind noise :)
if you're in cockpit view you can notice a difference when its gone :)

Also, if you want to just fly around, go to the cockpit options and hit "novice" you'll get unlimited fuel and all sorts of stuff (that the demo doesnt seem to want to let you turn on otherwise) then turn off 'immortal' and all the easy s***, and just leave on unlimited fuel for cruising (It seemed they gave you jack all fuel for the demo).

And try avoid getting shot to pieces then doing a hard turn going over the maximum angle of attack and tearing your plane in half as I did above :)

I'd be damned if I could shoot down that mirage ... somoene give me some tips, ive tried it all and I cant even fire a missle

so I have had to resort to flying around idiotically to amuse myself like this

Darius.

At the start.

hit:
"s" --> "4" --> "I" --> Get mirage within targeting circle --> "tab" --> "Space to fire" --> "D" to cycle weapon

Its a bitch to find the bugger and to get behind him/get a lock, I used F5 alot (external view of your plane looking at the mirage)..
I couldnt figure out how to get the HUD to display where he was (with an arrow type thing).
When he's locked on I got the circle thing which shows you which direction he's in, but before that, I have no idea, its a bit hard to 'look' around the cockpit at the same time trying to fly/keep from getting shot down.

Be nice if there was a key that locked your eyes on the nearest enemy aircraft or something like that (whithin in the cockpit as though you were the pilot).
There could be, but I couldnt figure it out.

I also found that the faster you go, the harder you could turn without going 'over limit' which was kind of stupid.
I found recovering from flat spins to be a bit of a pain in the arse.
hitting "Alt + p" will auto-recover it for you (though it often does a worse job than you can), "s*** + Enter" for human correction again.

now that iv given this demo a bit of a thrash, i just wanna comment on how complicated this really is. It took me around an hour to figure out most of the controls and even still now im struggling remembering them all. I dont even know what half of them do. This demo leaves alot to be desired imo :O because with only the 2 planes and all. Also should be a training level included with the demo so you can get a basic grip of things. I enjoy this game and i look forward to its full release :)

They could've made the demo a bit more user friendly, not a scene where you have 5 seconds to figure out what to do, even from there it takes an effort to figure out what to exactly do. I was expection just to cruise around and blow up some s*** :) maybe even take off..

First four aren't on high detail (didnt tweak them before mucking around - just hit 'medium').

Last two are everything maxxed w/out max water (water on med. I think) or heat blur
(heat blur just kills my frae rate).

XP 1800+, 1x 256 Kingmax 2700, 1x 256 Corsair 2700, GF3 Ti200 (not overclocked atm, but it overclocks extremely highly without any problems).

Nothing spectacular, ran the demo fine on the settings in the last two shots.

I did some test to see if anti aliasing would affect the game but it actualy didnt .. the only diference was that it looks worse :)

anyway here are some screens, the last one doesnt have fsaa or af first 3 are with 4 x fsaa and 16 af and the game ran very smooth

You can shoot the mirage down in a couple of seconds and then enjoy flying around at the speed of sound.
Just quickly go 4 > I > TAB > spam away your missiles, 2 is normally a definate hit.
