Read the model number off the laptop
Go to companies web site, lookup model. Go to drivers section on companies' website, download and install their drivers. No point guessing. |

Hhhmm, considering as how you can buy new laptops as OEM, refurbished ones are normally OEM and auction goods are normally sold OEM .... only a stolen laptop would have no drivers CD.
Does it have a CDROM drive? If so, load up windowsXP and if it won't install a suitable driver, it might atleast tell you what card you have. If it is an IBM laptop, it will tell you what the video card is in BIOS. If it does not tell you in BIOS, that should still contain a model number. If you can't match the model number on the case or in BIOS at the manufacturer's website then try just googling it. You might even be able to google for what the vid card is and get a real easy response. |
