it is the worst course i ever did

the coordinator was disorganized, the lectures were uninformative, the assignments were vague, there was no criteria for anything, and the exam was offtopic.

what result did you get for it tn?

The 2nd assignment was a joke, he gave me like 56, so i got it remarked and it was upped to 64. Reasonable since i started it a few hours b4 it was due. :)

I got a 6 for the course. It was mainly because of my prior knowledge of computers, nothing I got taught.

Same. That final test had nothing to do with anything in the entire course. more like general computer knowledge.

I just looked at ze course page, it seems you get marked for going to pracs now, since they have small prac work to do. Also Ass2 is only 15 marks instead of 35....possibly had something to do with the f***ed results students were gettin for it.

Yeah its pretty easy so far ahey, im in the 10-11am prac at S619 with that indian tutor dude. He aint too bad, he knows what he's talkin about but i wish he could take some "improve your accent" classes :P

I don't know exactly where you got that from, e-commerce has a decent retention rate of students. It also has a higher average of students comming off and getting employed straight away at the end of it (compaired to business).

Tell me about it Pluck. The MOST boring lecturer iv ever had. This guy talked solidly about bricks for 3 hours straight in the 1st lecture.. And you cant sleep cause there is lik 15 ppl in the class. Its really easy tho iv been told, so im gonna stick with it and try and improve my attention span. Its pretty much following the AS 3700 design code anyway, which is relativly simple.

The thing I like about Ipswich Campus is the density of students, or rather the lack of density. I know all of my lecturers rather well and if I have a problem I can easly go and speak to them directly without haveing to rely on tutors knowing everything (because they often don't).

That being said St lucia campus has lots of advantages ... one of those haveing a better econemy than the entire city of Ipswich, and the other of actualy getting benifits from the Student fees you have to pay (union and sports).

I have two subjects at St lucia this year and at least two out there per semester untill the end of my degree, although the class size should be a little smaller, seeing that they will all be 3rd year and on (exception of comp2500).

is anyone doing / done COMP2801? If so, what were your thoughts on it? Is it worth doing? (I do engineering not IT)

I was thinking of doing it next year, namly because of the focus that UML recives.

My housemates Girlfriend did comp2801 and she said it was good, apart from the fact that there assignment was to reverese engineer netbeans and then UMLfy it.
