Yes! I do...

Usually do around 1hr ish of weights, then a 5km - 3km ergo, depending on how I am feeling.

What kinda weights do you lift, determines suitability as a partner

jmr I'm looking to go prolly 4 days a week, around 45 mins to 1 1/2 hours depending on the split etc. Lifting for mass, not fitness, so will be going for heavier weights.

If anyone's interested, email me at morax@wor.ausgamers.com, i'm looking to start going hopefully within the fortnight.

IC, so what do you bench, reps ?

dunno what my max bench is cause i've never tried for a 1 rep max.. but i go for 6-12 reps over 3-4 sets (for basically everything except calves/abs, higher reps there).

UQ gym is pretty good for pumping iron. Doesn't have all this pansy s*** like fitness first and that. Has all the basic stuff and a lot of em.

I'm sure you'll find it a hell of a lot cheaper than those other joints too.

Oh and if you're lifting for mass, you shouldnt be in there more than 45min ; )

4 times a week.....that's a lot for mass. And yeah keep your sessions shorter.
Are you splitting up body areas when you work out?

well say 4 sets of 10, what would ya be lifting

UQ Gym is cheaper for UQ students, for other students it's slightly more expensive than TFC.

4 days a week for mass isn't much if you do a split like this:
1 2 3 1
2 3 1 2
3 1 2 3
etc. That enables you to work one body part 4 times every 3 weeks.

With the 45 minutes per training session, it depends what split you're doing. If you're doing the larger muscle groupes eg legs, a longer rest period is better. Smaller muscle groups eg arms don't require as long to recoup between sets. But yeah, 45 minutes is good for a lot of splits.

With the 4 sets of 10 reps, i usually go 12-10-8-6 or there abouts, lifting the weight of each set, and doing the last 2 to failure.

But back to the topic, I am still looking for a training partner, I've been without internet for the last week and a half (damn moving!), so I don't know if anyone's tried to email, I'll hopefully be able to check this arvo.

bench was around 40kg + bar for 12 , one-arm curls about 12.5kg for 12, squats were about 50kg + bar for 12.

But also, after about a month, these will go up considerably.

I have you on msn and ICQ so drop me a line. I lift more for fitness though not mass.

heh if you're lifting for mass then you're doing way too many sets and reps.

also, if u join uq sport ($100) then u get the UQ student gym rate.

also, u can get 12 or 20kg bars so u should just add everything so u know what ur actually doing.

you should prolly be doing exercises for lats/biceps for endurance if ur doing rowing.

lat pulldowns, chinups, seated rows, bent over barbell/dumbbell rows, pullovers etc

Weights/bodybuilding isn't a f***ing competition. It's a challenge against yourself - no one else.

Meh, finally got the net at home (after 2 farken weeks!!)

So yeah, Avenger I do have a diet sorted out, been studying all about nutrition for ages now (about 3 years). Only problem is being able to afford all the (good) food all the time :S

Instead of blowing a mint on Gym fees, me and a few mates cobled together a decent gym in my shed for the cost of one anual fee for one person.

It's well into it's second year so the financial pay off is excellent.

The two clowns I workout with easily bench 150 and deadlift 260. /me looks at my puny 90 and sighs.... Gotta admit though, workin out with competition weight lifters is pretty bloody awesome.

Well Morax if you have been studying it for three years then I think you should be right sorting out your diet lol.

Yeah getting all that food can be expensive hey (if you want the good stuff) and hard to constantly eat meals every few hours.

Good luck with it all, hope you start making some big gains.

Thanks man :) you're not wrong about it being hard to eat enough meals, it's hard enough just buying real food let alone supplements :\
