Some guy just called me and was a basted or a telemarketer. I tried to tell him that i already had a mobile phone and he kept on talking, obiously reading off a screen. I didn't want to pay him out so i decided to just make noises :D

The thing I hate about telemarketers is when I have to get out of bed, walk 20m to the phone and then have some retard start dribbling some garbage in my ear.

I know the instant I get a tellemarketing call on my phone im' going to disconnect it from optus, after having someone come around a few weeks back trying to demand $85 worth of f***ing COUPONS i got my number changed and made silent.

I'd like to get my Optus number made silent as well. Is it just a case of calling them up and having it done, or do you need a particular reason?

dais, just tell them you want to cancel, tell them you are sick to death of tellemarketers, and tell them you are "anoyed that your details were sold to third partys" then theyll crap on a bit and possibly offer to do it for free, f***, i got a new number, silent, and $5 off my bill doing it ;)

To many telemarketers get paid on commission, i've started just asking them straight out are you getting paid on commission if its no then i say don't waste your time, if its yes i'll try and scam some answers so they can make some extra cash.

next thing you know it'll become illegal to abuse people over the phone, or to act really weird to them. then how will you deal with telemarketers?? :(

yeah i think it is. but in this case i'd vote for splat, i can't think of one telemarkter that has ever brought anything interesting to my attention ever. they waste my time, their time, and lots of money. and what if i'm waiting for a call, say for a job, and i miss it because of them?

well they inform you it may be recorded and by you remaining on the line it's reasonable to assume you consent to it being done. If you don't then you hang up. Simple.
