I know they havent announced any of the acts for this years livid, but i was wondering if anyone had some "inside knowledge" of some of the big names this year?

This years will have to something special to beat last years one, i think it was the best i have ever been to.

I havent heard many rumours.
sound like basically confirmed - Vandals and Ataris

strong rumour - Weezer, radiohead, pretty violent stain, the cult, papa roach.

People are rumouring TOOL everywhere, but I really have my doubts and don't want to get my hopes up. Sides, I'd rather see them in a full set at thier own gig :( . Another thrown around rumour is Incubus.
The fact that neither of these bands have chosen bris on thier recent tours makes it a little more likely they may show though.

The date from the mailing list said October 13th. (think they changed it because of the goodwill games).

When do ticket sales open for livid?

usually a month or two before. Keep an ear out and you'll hear, there's generally enough that it doesnt sell out too fast.

I prefer Livid to BDO cause its closer :)

.....Livid 2001 is to be held on Saturday 13th October. (Some press has been saying it will be the 6th but this is not correct).

We¹ll be making our first announcement of acts in a couple of weeks and tickets are due to go on sale on Monday 23rd July.

Acid: Are you serious about the ataris!!!, they were only here a couple of months ago, oh well, ill defenitely see them again.

sif this years BDO was better than last years livid. BDO was s*** (no thanks to placebo the poofs)...with the exception of Frenzal, Rammstein and that lillypad thing, they were the only acts that made it semi-decent.

I remeber the last BDO I went to (was the 6 and out one in Sydney) and they got this chick to strip for a free mobile phone with all bills paid for a year.....she did it too...wasnt to bad a show :)

Of course the highlight of that one was Soundgarden

Yeah, they were here only a few months ago (and they owned) but some bands just love .au :)

Just read on the kugfu records website in the big vandals and ataris Australian tour section under October they've got "INCLS LIVID FESTIVAL" I'd say that's a decent confirmation.

My favourite part is the bit where you have to wait for 3 hours to get out of the carpark because they choose the most stupid place to put cars to park.

My favourite part of BDO is how all the 14 yr old guys decide to get alcohol somehow and throw up on the mosh pit.

Hey, you guys forgot the best part of BDO -how cool it was to be in front of the main stages right at the start (frenzal), and sink upto your shins in mud. then to jump and have your shoes remain burried in the mud, leaving your feet exposed to all the grubby bastards that give the mosh pit that "special" smell.

my favourite part about the big day out was going to hospital afterwards with an asthma attack, that fully rocked

ehe, the mud at bdo wasnt bdo's fault tho, can't help the weather.
Riverstage is awesome when its muddy :)

But livid's all good cause Loudmouth stage has a solid concrete base and damn loud music in a big fukn shed booyah!

Im 2nd cousins with.. cant remember exactly what he does for Livid.. but he is also Powderfinger's Tour Manager.
I went to the Tatt's club with him last night and a whole lot of other family.
He got me work exp for the Livid event, most probably backstage crap, not sure exactly. I've gotta ring him soon anyway.

About the inside knowledge crap. Ticket's will be cheaper than BDO.. like a few dollars cheaper.
But i didnt ask him what bands would be there.. just toally forgot to.. he did say that it will be bigger than last years definatly!
hmm.. well anyway.. should be good.

tix are usually like $10 cheaper, but the big names shouldnt have too much trouble being bigger than last year.

A headliner like tool would easily be bigger than any of those bands you mentioned in your last post.

allthough we love the locals and more alt so much, the 'big' bands are dictated by pop culture.

sadly creed is currently bigger than all you named in that post :(

Yeah itll be good, but one problem someone mentioned. is that since they put the date back 1 week for that commenwealth heads of state thing, some bands had based their scheldule arounf the old date, meaning they have booked shows for when livid is actually on. But who knows, can only hope, i missed pennywise last time they were here.

bleh, nothing that makes you want to go? it'll rawk whoever goes, even if you didnt like most the bands you could always go catch the comedy or whatever.

big names are generally the dongs anyway, just the sellouts or the ancients bizkit or cure style.

true, muse was the best band at livid last year IMO, but the some of the "big names" are also good to see on the main stages.
