Hey,

ETM's been released now, hasn't it? What was so wrong with it that they've already got a patch on Fileplanet, and why isn't the enterthematrix site updated?

Also, if anyone's got the game yet, is it any good?

Schweeet just got my copy - $99 at George St Sydney GB. Won't get chance 2 play til l8r 2nite tho...

Yeah weird re: patch. No details. released as yet, not even on Atari's site. I found the patch on Gamer's Hell, but since I'm on a course atm I won't b able 2 install/dl to read readme til I get home.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply- i usually only post on American sites, where everyone's generally asleep by the time i get up in the morning. I have only $15 of the $100 i need, which sucks, so I probably won't get it for a while unless i get a *cough*warez*cough* version of it, which i don't plan on doing.

The bullet trails in the pics on the ETM site looked pretty bad, but those are PS2 screenshots... and I'm looking forward to any modding possibilities. Not like they're likely to release tools, but look at GTA3... new cars, maps, everything.

Let me know how it is.

Oh, yeah, forgot to say- apparantly Target have a limited time offer where they knock $15 off the price.

Just got my copy installed. Going back to EB now, bye... Seriously, what a piece of crap, I was really looking forward to this game. Does anyone who's played the game like it?

People's opinions really vary on this game... could you maybe specify what parts of the game you thought were particularly bad? No spoilers, though.

i thought the overall game was good but it was boring in the begining. the game was a little to easy i finished it with both niobe and ghost in 1 day. overall i give it a 6 out of 10

to be totaly honest i got this on the day it come out after seeing the movie, and i find it quite fun for what it is and very good add on to the movie. now before you ask what i have been smokeing hear me out. the idea behind the game is very good, the problems with it for the pc at least was its a direct port from the consoles (never a good idea) and was not optimized for pc (why this is so hard i don't know they make these things on pc's don't they?). now it add's to the movies tories lines. includeing introduceing the new oracle (rip the person who played the original). yes there are bad parts to the game but there are good parts too. if they were given mor time to optimize it for pc instead of being forced to have itout on the day the movie was released it could have been great. either way it was a good try and some fun i think.

Sounds great. Do the bullet trails look alright?

Also, there's something going terribly wrong with my Athlon right now, and i'm wondering if ETM will run on a laptop. It's running XP home, has 1.33ghz, 240mb ram, 20gb hard drive space, and I'm not sure what video card. Will it run alright?

Actually, the video card appears to be a "Trident video accelerator Cyberblade XP Ai1 v6.4022-016L.22ICD

Anyone have a clue?

yeh i rekon the game is pretty sweet. dodging bullets and running up walls is great! but one thing that has me confused is the hacking part of the game. does anyone have a clue as to what this actually is or does?

its hard to explain, best way to describe what it does is by saying its a developer installed cheating device. but it lets you do more then that. make weapon drops in the matrix add's a sword to your charater to use (only after you finish the game) and more. look up the stuff on different web pages dude

For hacking i recomend www.GameFAQ.com, but another question, in the directory containing the modle files for the characters you can see a neo.cdx file and a trinity + morpheus file, does this mean that theya re somehow accsesible to play as? I mean they wouldnt stik a neo modle in 4 the hell of it n i didnt notice any scenes or levlers with him in
(ps iv tryed re-naming the files to see if i could change the ghost model to the neo 1 but the game just crashes)

neo dosn't work but some of the others do like one of the twins or seraph (who i am currently useing as a model). multiplayer after hacking is console only. trinity is in game, youfight her as ghost.

It's an ok, but not a great game... I'd wait until the price drops before getting it.

As for whether it'll run on your system, I dunno... I got it for the gamecube... on which it ran sweet... looks pretty decent too, but since the game was designed with the PS2 as the base system, I think it should run pretty well on your system, although I'd check the box specs.

The hacking is pretty easy if you've used DOS, but a good way to start is to use the help function and follow the example it gives... it's also easy to figure out if you're able to read carefully and figure out the slightly cryptic clues.

Personaly i think the game was rushed, but only to get it out in time with the reloaded film, so on those grounds its an ok game that pleasanlty adds to the matrix experience. And theres no denying that when playing infront of mates that you get the frequent "wow" as you hold your own against an agent or pull off a rare kung fu move.

Another thing was i was wondering wat the optimal graphics setting are on the PC for the game.
I have a Gf3ti200 and do find the odd noticable graphics bug when playing the game, and i have experimented a bit with billenear, anitrostropic filtering ect. thanx

any help with the graphics here would be good, i wanna get my agents into black suits and some of the guns back to the right colors. gf4ti4200 with latest drivers on the nvidia site installed. its a real pain when an agent is wearing green qnd it smeant to be black. atari won't reply to the email sent either.

That's pretty f***ed up, dude. It could be your monitor... oh, and make sure you're running on True Color 32bit. That may help, but no promises. I really don't know why it would do that. Download the updates for ETM just in case, though.

There you go again, with your "grammatrical". Anyway, I didn't make any
--->GRAMMATICAL<--- errors, it was spelling, so that kind of takes away the irony.

ANYWAY.

Back to the topic, folks.. are the graphics on ETM that bad?

Yes and no, but what really sorta stuck out for me was the scaling of the characters, next time you play just stand next to an agent, or even seraph for instance they absoloutly tower abover you at like 6 ft 5, and we all know that the seraph guy was only a short little ninja dude.

In this time of video games, we see that there has to be a 'wow factor' or games just look the same. I played Enter the Matrix on pc last night and I have to say that there's not much WOW factor for 4 cds.. I've gotten more enjoyment out of a 1 cd game actually. Although the resolutions are pretty high, the game still has a crappy Playststion conversion feel to it.. Kinda like Splinter Cell did.. As if it was meant to be played with a joypad only and not a keyboard.

Splinter Cell didn't. It was redone for PC, very well IMO.

Lol the only people who would'nt get a 'wow factor' are ones that have minimal interest in the intriguing storyline of the matrix itself....Don't play the game if you're looking for a 'wow factor' play it if you are a dedicated matrix fan....i.e. myself :)

Right.....then fact of the matter is that you abused people for 'spelling mistakes' hence you deserve to be abused in return......idiot

You've really lost the plot, havn't you? I abused noone for spelling mistakes, nor did i say i did. I expressed frustration at his grammar, which makes it harder to read what he says. There's nothing wrong with that. I didn't abuse him, or make any remark about his spelling. Besides, who do you think you are, calling insulting people you don't even know? You've called me an idiot in most, if not all, of your posts on this thread. For nothing.

Get it straight before you attempt to justify yourself.
