As all ra3 players know the ausgamers ra3 server was taken down.

Optus is a bunch of f***s and carnt run there server and are yet to notice they have a problem.

Wireplay is currently offline and has s*** ping and packloss.

Ausgamers ra3 is a f***ing sick server for telstra users to recive a kick ass ping.

WE at least need one working server.
Come on ausgamers. so us the server again!

during peak times it was always full or close to.
it was the only good RA3 server around for BPA users.

and now it's taken down so the UT server doesnt lag???

AusGamers are doing a great job on the webpage/news/forum side of things, but the servers are being neglected something shocking.

why go takin down a server that people used every day and leave up all Q1 & Q2 servers that NOBODY uses?

some thing should really be done about them, prioritize and put up servers for games ppl actually PLAY - good idea isnt it?

Quake2 CTF uses next to nothing in resources.

The QuakeWorld servers are on a separate box (pentium1 166mhz), which I no longer even have the login for - they'll run forever until the box crashes.

QW needs next to no resources?

I think that to ease Ausgamers load, you should replace all the servers with QW servers. Good for you, good for us (even if we don't realise it yet).

When will you fools realise, Quake3 is just a waste of time. That is why Q2CTF had been revived. Squarkeyd i swear if you played ctf in a clan war, you will be amazed how awesome and intense it actually is. It's not just me who feels this way. Look at Q3 Clans like GZI they came back to Quake2. In this league we have some of the best Quakers around playing in it, Ie. Limps, BadKarma,DAB 18, Saint, Lash, Greymatr, Kuffs Resilient :),Dice and much more.

ausgamers ra3 had like 1/2 ppl in it max during the day and then at night (prolly 7 till about 11) it would be full/near full.

The Urban Terror server is full almost all the time, and the q1/2 servers arent so resource hungry.

Well I think there are more people playing UrbanT then there were playing ra3 so unless you can figure out something else then I can't see you getting a server.

c0rr more ppl are playing UT because
A) it's a new mod and ppl are trying it out, RA3 has a more regular player base.
B) There is no f***ing RA3 server so of course more ppl are playin UT

wireplays and optus' ra3 servers are almost as sad as dialup(their cs servers are definately as bad as dialup). no comaprison to the old qglra3. i really miss gren/rjs aswell and they dont go down well in the land lubbin cs or urbantea.

Re: "donate a machine", we can't just drop any old machine we like off at WebCentral and have it hooked up the network. Hence, we have to carefully balance the resources we do have.

Browsing through the "Aust Quake3" list in SQ shows me that the WP RA3 is 16/16, good pings from my BPA connection.

Yeah WP is the only serv i can find to.
Btw nats, with reguards to SQ, do the lists automatically update when various servers are either
a. updated or b. new servers are added?

SQ *should* refetch all lists at startup if its configured to "update lists automatically" in the General Options window.

Whether this is what actually happens, I'm not sure *g*. The QStat based lists (eg, AusGamers,Wireplay,Optus) definately update themselves, but I'm not about the "Aust *" lists. I'll check (and if necessary fix) for the next release.

Of course, you can refresh a list whenever you like by right-clicking the list name and choosing "Refresh".

i cant help but notice that there is never anyone on the q2ctf server.
While this server may only be able to run q2, lets atleast put on a q2 mod that everyone will play instead of sumthing no one will play?
maybe we should ahve a vote , put up ra2 or sumtin?

The CTF server isn't being used much at the moment because ACL season 1 has just finished. Once season 2 kicks off, it'll get used again.

Well atm Servers have become scarce for RA3.... Optus map 1 only has most likly shut down and for the RA3 community that is a big loss. But even when optus one was the most popular server i still slipped away to Ausgamers RA3 server to have a game with all maps and a decent reliable ping we held quite a few clan warz on Ausgamers aswell(Since wireplay has BS ping)( I'm pretty sure you were there for the tK war Trog) with out some more servers RA3 will most likly die out and many formidable clans will perish with it

So i say bring Ausgamers BACK!
