I didn't even know you could do it. I put my money in to make a call and it said "Hit OK for SMS" and I thought, ok Why not. I sent one and it worked.

Way cool and cost 20 cents :)

Cool and before you know it you'll be sending 3 times the amount of sms's because they are half the cost ;D

get ICQ

got to "Services"

Then SMS, enter the number, and type a message.

It only works with a particular network tho, Telstra I think.

But yeah, free to send, but costs the mobile user to reply.

ICQ can message all networks now. It was originally only Vodafone, but now all networks work, well Telstra, Optus and Vodafone anyway.

if you know the right number you can send an sms phone that has dial tone. but it will cost local call.

It was a telstra pay phone near town. The one next to it however didn't have the feature, yet was the same fone.

You don't do squat. ICQ--->Services---->Send SMS Message--->Insert Number (take away the 0 at start and don't put anything in area code box just select Australia)---->Type message ----> click send.

use msn..msn can send sms to telstra and voda..

u have to get account..put ur number in

and u can just chat normally..
like using msn. right click..send sms to phone.

its soo much easier

enter the person's mobile number in their details *important when you enter the number drop the 0 from the start of the number..then it really depends on the version of icq you have..in older versions you click their name and then goto sms message, and in newer versions such as icq lite you can just use the checkbox at the bottom of the message box...btw trillian also integrates sms into it's features as well so now you have no excuse to pay for sms if you are at home!

msn does sms but it is for vodafone only icq covers all three networks, not only that vodaphone charges the reciever of an msn sms an arm and two legs....AVOID!

How do you send it from a payphone, do you just speak and it puts it into writing or something, or do you type it like normal on the pay phone.

You type it exactly as you would on a mobile phone. Using the numbers that correspond with the letters you want.

EXACTLY like a sms from a mobile. But at a payphone!

Yeah but dont u have to pay extra to use the sms feature on msn messenger?

Giving credit card number out on the internet = bad :p
