Hey Everyone
I have a question. I have a Sound Blaster Live Value Sound Card and Boston Digital BA 735 speakers, which came with my Gateway Computer. The sound card only has FOUR plugs at the back of the sound card. I just tried installing the new Sound Blaster Live drivers for Windows XP. When installing the drivers it ask if I am using a "Digital Output" which I clicked "Yes" because that what my speakers support. However when finishing installing the Sound Card, I recieve no sound. However when I turn off the "Digital Output" and plug ordinary analogue speakers it works fine. The Drivers also come with a Diagnostics Tester, so I ran the tester and everything is fine. Then I ran test speakers. When I tested the speakers nothing came out. But the picture showing the back of the Sound Card shows FIVE plugs at the back of the Sound Card, but my Sound Card only has Four. On the diagram it shows the "Digital Out Jack" and the "Line OUt Jack" SEPARATE, however with my sound card it is the same plug. Does anyone know anyother drivers out or how I can fix the problem. Because I want EAX sound! Oh yeah and by the way when I installed the drivers it wrote that my Sound Blaster live Value is a "SB Live! [DF80]". |

the yellow one is digital out, if you don't have one.. it's not a sblive, you don't have a magical one that is different from other sblives... |

Do you have digital out ?
From what I understand, the option is available even if your card doesnt have digital capabilities... When you enable digital out, your telling it to output everything outs it digital jack instead of the typical analogue one. Im not sure what your question is, but selecting digital out, doesnt actually change the audio coming out of your 'audio out' on your card, it changes the actual physical jack it comes out. Pink I believe is the Digital Out one im using. |

I couldn't tell what you meant by "Digital Out"
from what I know... Digital / Optical out can be too different things, but what I think you are probably talking about is an optical out plug that basically sends all four/five/six channels through one cable... If this is so... um. Keep searching for drivers, i have a dodge SB pci128compact which is an onboard pos 2 channel, but the driver support I get from creative is quite appaling... anyways, thats my too cents |
