Coming home tonight and when the train got to my station (Moorooka) the driver didn't release the fricking doors!!

I reckon about 20 of us ended up having to get off at Rocklea instead. The next train wasn't for like 25 minutes, so I had to walk back to Moorooka.

gg, QR. :(

when it started going again why didnt you just hit the emergency stop button?

Sure there's a $300 fine for misuse, but it would hardly be misuse in that case, if it was indeed the drivers fault and you werent the only one that had to get off there.

thats what the big mofo emergency stop button is for, if they fools say "why did you press it" then tell them, if they are not going to open the doors for you, you will do it yourself.

hi dc, and yes, yes it is crap. I didn't really mind too much, except I ended up having to go out straight afterwards, instead of having 20 minutes spare like I thought I would. Other people on the train were much less impressed, though.

I just can't get over the fact that he forgot! I mean he has like 2 things to remember when approaching a station:

  1. Stop on the mark

  2. Open doors

That's about has hard to remember as putting a spoon in every pack of Whizz Fizz. :)

Trust me, I thought of doing that. But then I thought "I've always wondered what the world is like Beyond Moorooka Station" :P

4. light durry
5. cough up black chunk
6. call someone a c***

Driving a train is a little more complex than most of you might think. Also they may have been told over the radio to skip a particular station.

The ghetto? heh, bowen hills is a much friendlier place than that valley hole. :P

after that it only gets nicer and more suburban.

Yeah, but how complex do you think it is to remember to open the doors? Surely it's just a button or something - I could understand the whole signalling system, etc, being complex and s***, but once you're stopped what's left to do? Plus, the guy at the other end of the train should have thought "Gee, that's wierd that a peak hour train would have no-one getting off here" when there's normally at least 10-20 people get off at mooroka.

Also, the driver didn't skip the station - he stopped, waited about twice the normal length of time, and then sounded the horn and drove off.

Coldest trainstation would have to go to Moorooka I reckon. It's right beside the train yards there and there's NO shelter from the crisp winter early morning breezes we've been getting lately.

another observation i have made is that in order to get a job with QR you seem to have to be at the level just above retardation...ill find the front cover of the clevand line timetable and youll see what i mean

Did you try another carriage? Sometimes the doors in a particular carriage get stuck. Or worse still the "open" light on the control panel in the driver's cab may have said they were unlocked even though they weren't.

and QR staff infest bowen like crazy
That's because Bowen Hills is right next to Mayne Yard (I've been there many times before, big place).

Bray Park is actually the worst. Lots of people get bashed/mugged/robbed in Bray Park. Two security guards have been stabbed in Bray Park in the last few months. A place to avoid late at night.

Also, to combat crime at Bray Park station QR now plays classical music 24/7 over the PA system. Apparently it's working wonders.

A couple of guys came running up from the front carriage (I was in the middle) coz they obviously figured that, only to find 5 or 6 of us standing there waiting - all the while I had the handle turned waiting for the things to release. I even tried using a bit of force.

Face it, Hunter - the driver f***ed up. Everybody survived - granted a few people may have been a bit late home, but in the end everyone lived happily ever after. You can sit here and defend the driver till you're blue in the face but it won't change the fact that from where I was standing he just plain forgot. Simple as that.

You can go try and start an argument with someone else now Hunter coz a) I'm only keeping this going for something to do, and 2) I'm going to bed.

Oh, and while you're at it you can stop spamming me on ICQ too.

i did work experience at qrail, they dont' work particularly hard.

on my work experience, i sat ther and surfed teh net fomr 8:30 - 12, then i would just go down to the arcades for 3-4 hours, then go home.

i did one days work while i was there. and it was just seting up pc's. nothing hard.

Heh I was on the trian one night and the QR people on the train started asking if anyone was getting of at Sunshine cause they weren't stoping there. A few minutes late I found out why, when I saw some scummy hommie fags on the platform swearing and running across the train tracks towards the train as it skiped the station. I then saw a few police cars pull up as the station disapeared out of view.

my mates car broke down in woodridge once :/ now thats scary

but anyway, indro is still relatively safe atm, not many trains go out that way later in the night so it doesnt give the thugs reason to hang about.

What I like about it is that everyone is a lot more 'real'. They don't go putting on acts about how everything is perfect in their life. I also like it because it forces you to become 'street wise' and actually think about what you do when your out of your house. ie: you learn to fight :P
