I just put an asus cuv4x board in my machine with a p3 700 i can only get my vid card to work in 2x ........ when i go to 4x mode it gets ten seconds into any program and hangs (((((((((...

Yes 4x is enabled in my bios and my card is fully 4x compatable ... ergo i get s*** frame rates and s***ty lookin colors.....HELP HELP HELP PLZ...

What I still don't realise is that making directly negative comments that are both stupid and off-topic makes me look like a dork, and ends up running the risk of annoying server admins for both wasting valuable CPU time and valuable disk space with my abusive comments.

i have the same board and have no problems at all
some cards and the via chipset don't get along unless AGP2X is on
ythe difference is about nothing any way

My Second machine has the same mobo with a 4xagp m64tnt2 , works fine

I'd suggest borrowing a freinds vid card to see if yours is the problem.
Simple process of elimination.

flash the vid cards bios... might help

mine runs 4x AGP fine with my p3800

I have the same motherboard.. and i had the same problem..
but that only happened when i had the detonator 3 drivers from nvidia installed..
so i installed the original..
yeah so this might not be any help if you dont have a nvidia card
