I'm looking at getting said video card, but it's mainly for playing DVD's etc on TV. I've read some stuff about TV Tool and some program that comes with the latest Nvidia drivers that gets rid of the black borders that seem to appear by default when using TV Out. I would like to know whether the GF2MX would be worthwhile for DVD viewing on a TV, and whether anyone has any experience with tweaking TV Out so that the Full TV Screen is used, ie. no ugly black borders. Also, what is generally the max resolution a TV can handle. I've heard 640x480 for most, but newer TVs can go up to 800x600 and some even 1024x768. Needless to say I've spent too much on my PC to be able to afford a swanky TV, but it's no old faux wood veneer 70's POS either. Thanks. |

the border isn't that noticible but it depends on the type of TV on my tv at home its only ~1/2 inch border but on metals its almost an inch (the tvs are the same size) either way its way better than watching it on monitor |

Have you used TV Tool or Nvfsvm.exe? As referred to in this article: http://www.rivastation.com/review/tv-out_dvd/tv-out_dvd_1_e.htm |

proper DVD decoder cards have TV out that will give you been quality output than a GF2MX... but you can only watch DVDs on that output.. if you get a GF2MX with TV OUT, you can play games and stuff on your TV too :) |

ineffable, even with the Nvidia program or TV Tool there's still black borders? You using the latest versions? Stereo, it's definitely gonna get used for games as well, which is why I'm not going for the DVD-only MPEG card. |
