Season 1 and 2 were pretty cool. Lots of action, superpower use, twists and Sylar being a evil bastard. Now it's this boring ass draaaaaggging-on drama with the odd 4 second bit of superpower use. There's nothing interesting happening, all the new characters have lame powers and the story just won't hurry-tfu.

I'm in the middle of watching E17 right now and its just the same episode ovvver and ovvver. I don't even understand why I'm still watching it.

This site actually sums it up nicely: http://www.allthatnerdystuff.com/2009/09/26/heroes-season-4-on-the-way-to-the-grave/

Disappointing, cause it had heaps of potential.

Was thinking of starting up a thread about this the other day. The show really sucks now, I've dropped from grabbing HD to standard-def as it's almost not worth the quota.

The characters are running around doing random things separately without any sense of direction, I seriously have no idea where the story is headed. The whole carnival thing has dragged on too long, and half of each episode for the last couple of seasons was spent with Claire being emo about who she is.

Season 1 was good, I probably should have stopped watching it after that. Thought maybe it could make a comeback the way Lost beautifully did. Guess I was wrong!

The show really sucks now. I still watch it hoping that it will get better.

They should kill off Claire, Hiro, Peter and Matt Parkman.

Heroes became Lost with a different name. The story just never goes anywhere and seems to repeat itself. So I've stopped watching Heroes.

Obviously spoken by someone who hasn't seen Seasons 4 and 5 :)

I don't think Heroes can make a comeback the way Lost did. It is too far gone.

Still watching out of habit, its really very average now though.

The new evil clown carnival s*** is a step in the right direction as long as they build to something.

Spoiler:
It was kind of cool when he sunk the town I guess.

The Hiro character failed when he didn't turn into future Hiro samurai ninja timelord badarse. The whole loveable-silly Japanese guy thing got old amazingly fast.

Speaking of One Tree Hill, has anybody watched the latest ep?

That would have to be one of the best eps they've ever done. f*** me it was good. And how amazingly gorgeous is Quinn? Even Hayley for that matter.

I'm still watching it, but I agree it's not so awesome anymore. The whole lesbian thing with Claire is probably the most interesting part, and it's not even remotely related to super-powers. Peter was cooler when he had s***loads of powers.

yer im hoping peter gets access to all his powers by the last episode.

also looks like samuels plan is to reveal people with powers to the world. i hope he exceeds.

I disagree, I liked seasons 1 and 2, which is why I suffered through the s***-bit in the middle. Luckily, they rewarded me with the awesomeness of season 5.

Yeah I wish they'd bring back the original end of the world scenario. Imagine if it got to that and they were all bad ass with scars and pulled back ninja hair and stuff like in season ...2 was it? Survivor-mode Heroes. But its all whine this bitch that dont go after him noah this, I'm yet to do something with this freaking godamn carnival s***.

It's moreso that the super power use is so little these days, and they just keep playingf the same game over and over. I want super battles like in Season 1 and 2.

thats why im really hoping samuel succeeds. could be so many epic storylines if the world knows specials exist and some of the characters probably would evolve into their future selves.

also they need to kill ando for hiro to turn into badass hiro.

also i think the paintings of earth split in half from last season were hinting at samuel. can be interpreted as samuel using his power to split the earth, or as specials vs the normals.

Heroes is pretty stupid, evil guy does something evil.. 5 minutes later everyone has forgotten about it and he convinces them he is just "misunderstood", repeat every episode.

I sometimes catch up to wherever it's at at the time since it's easier than starting a new show... I know I'll at least kind of like it.

Then I usually rage at things like characters dying but then coming straight back.

Absolute s*** season. And the last ep was such bulls***. I love how Samuel can destroy a whole town by himself but when it comes to killing some people in New York he suddenly needs all the circus freaks to give him power.

And Sylar becoming good is a stupid idea. They really need to kill off Claire, Hiro and Parkman. Sylar needs to be evil and the rest of the guys should be hunting him down while he goes on a killing rampage.

Also, why the f*** didn't Peter grab Sylar's power? The whole show is f***ed but I keep watching hoping it will get better.

Samuel had lots of power until the specials were teleported far away. When Samuel destroyed the first town, many people were nearby still. The circus was right there.

As far as I'm aware, Peter trusts Sylar. Plus even if Pete grabbed Sylar's power, he'd still be without cool powers at the start. Maybe he still thinks he needs to kill people to take their power, because he's seen Sylar in action.

Actually, Sylar as a good guy has possibilities. If Sylar is a Hero now, doesn't that mean we're in for a bigger store of evil?

IMHO Claire is annoying - she has the power to heal using her blood, but she doesn't do it, the selfish bitch. She could learn some combat/weapon skills and kill villains, but she doesn't, selfish bitch. BUT Hiro is powerful and there is much to come from him, don't kill him. Parkman is all over the shop, he needs to either ditch the family or ditch being a Hero, make a choice.

Heroes can come good, but we need a battle again, good versus evil. Not this, oh maybe I'm with Samuel, maybe I'm not, ooh a circus, bad guy is actually good, give him a chance. It was better when there was Sylar and there was everyone else. He still survived, what a legend.

Thats what people thought at the end of season 1... and 2... and 3... and with its ratings now will there even be another season? And if there is, what kind of budget will it have.. if the big season finale showdown between peter and sam-wtf is my accent supposed to be this week-uel is them pushing a bit of dirt back and forth, do you really hope for anything spectacular?
Sylar as a good guy has possibilities.
Yeah heaps of possibilities like "next week on heroes will sylar go back to the dark side" or "sylar struggles with his hero side and considers killing"... wait that sounds familiar, didn't they do that for five minutes when he teamed up with bennet.
BUT Hiro is powerful and there is much to come from him
Like for example he takes full control of his powers and can stop time at will... but there's a hitch and he loses all his powers for the 50th time.
Not this, oh maybe I'm with Samuel, maybe I'm not,
So basically not heroes then, because that "am i good am i bad, whose side am i on" has been every season of heroes.

So basically not heroes then, because that "am i good am i bad, whose side am i on" has been every season of heroes.

While the title may not be befitting, isn't that the whole point of the show? To me, Heroes was merely like any other human tv drama...with a twist that most of the characters have an 'ability' (note: never referred to as a 'power') that they question every day as to how to best use.

The show has always focused on the greys (no pun intended) of living with extraordinary capabilities, rather than the easily defined Good vs Evil. If you want super powered Good vs Evil, Smallville is there for you. :)

It's a slow-burn, human drama...which was *never* gearing toward a future of spandex-wearing super teams. Pretty sure Tim Kring has stated something along these lines. It explains why comic book super heroes are constantly mentioned in the show - to separate the comic 'hero' from the "real life" heroes on the show.

I think the true flaw of this show is that storylines are either rushed and half-baked, or, more recently they're tossed out the moment that ratings start to slide. Primary characters are not growing or evovling naturally in their paths. Periphery characters show up one day, and are never seen/mentioned again four weeks later.

Another important factor was the departure of Bryan Fuller. He was behind some of the more memorable season 1 stories, and his leaving (to make 'Pushing Daisies') had an almost immediate impact in the quality of storytelling.

Fuller came back briefly during last season (Volume 4) after Pushing Daises was axed, to help out with some creative consulting. But then he left the show for good.

Heroes just wrapped up this current season, two days ago. It's still undecided as to whether it will return in September.

There's a difference between shades of grey and characters switching from black to white in an instant, and characters forgetting the "evil" s*** that others have done not five minutes earlier. Like Claire in the final episode siding with her dad was a complete shock to me as I fully expected her to forget everything that just happened and do a complete 180 and side with Samuel based on her actions during the season.

Haven't actually sat down to watch the finale yet, but if it's in reference to Bennett's origins flashbacks - his past actions were borne out of vengeance. The Company then exploited his position. Sure, genocide is a modern evil, but I would not have bought Claire completely outcasting him. She knew who he was already.

Claire pisses me off so much that if I was to see her in real life I'd be very tempted to punch her out as childish as it seems. GO AWAY!

Its ok, but I hate Claire.

Spoiler:
now that she has shown everyone her ability, it should be pretty interesting. (She jumps off a Ferris wheel at the end of the episode).

Overall I actually liked that season, it had some pretty bad episodes and some pretty low points, but it had some pretty cool stuff too, and I think overall it was a net positive. Definitely better than the previous season, but if they cut out all the stupid claire at college crap, and the deaf chick with the ambigious sound abilities, I would have been much happier.

The sylar going good thing may have been a little rushed and a little forced, but I'll forgive them for that, cos I actually like the idea. I really liked those episodes a few seasons ago where Sylar was briefly working with bennet as an agent, so I'm keen for more "Sylar trying to be a hero" stuff. At least its something interesting and different for the character besides "I'm a bad guy, I want to kill everyone", which is getting kinda stale.

I believe that could of cut down the deaf chicks story and focused more on sylar turning good.

Other then that it was a pretty good season.

Thing is, after 3 years, they still haven't topped some of the awesome moments from the first season, like when peter is on the train and we see future hiro for the first time looking all badass, or nathan taking off and creating a sonic boom as he escapes from bennet, or the future episode. Maybe part of it was cos it was all new and fresh then and we hadn't seen it before, but I dunno, while they've had some pretty cool stuff (along with some pretty terrible stuff) in the last 3 seasons, I still don't think anything has had the same punch as the first season did.

f*** I hate Claire. The number of times she's been in a perfectly acceptable situation to bust out her wonder healing blood and she doesn't. Come on writers, can you make the show any less inconsistent?

Anyway, I hope they don't wipe out what happened with some of Hiro time travelling "fix" and then f*** up the next season. I don't believe they will, but you never know with this show.

The whole season was basically about Claire whiney like a little girl about being normal, with a little bit of Sam in there too.

like when peter is on the train and we see future hiro for the first time looking all badass, or nathan taking off and creating a sonic boom as he escapes from bennet, or the future episode.

This.

Heroes now reminds my of what season 2 of Lost was. Just a bunch of eps thrown together not knowing what the f*** they're meant to be doing or where they're going. All the s*** that went down in the early seasons seems to have absolutely no impact on where they are atm.

Like what's already been said about future Hiro on the train. It's like the writers have forgotten all about this stuff. The one thing that is ruining this show is the writers continually bringing in new characters with powers and devoting whole season arcs to them while forgetting s*** that's happened in the past.

theres no future hiro because they prevented that future from happening.
