You might've seen the ads on TV for the new HJs Angry Angus Burger. Looks awesome!

http://www.hungryjacks.com.au/media//8c67533fa2de7d7472208cb997046bda/angry_angus_single_image.jpg

Until you buy one and it looks like this:

Bit disappointing. Tasted OK but I wouldn't go back for another.

Tried one as well. Where as the Maccas angus burger was a step up from their regular s*** (albeit it was still fast-food grade), the HJs Angus burger tasted pretty much the same as any other of their mayonnaise coated burgers.

In my life I have never seen a burger come out the same as it was advertised/displayed. I've always thought they're either fake or someone spent hours making that thing.

If you're not getting your burgers from Big Chiefs then you are doing it wrong.

I had the single patty one and it came out more or less as advertised. I thought it was great - a grubby version of the maccas one.

I saw a documentary once about food phorography. The use all sorts of tricks like pinning the lettuce to the bun, using fake food, and painting turkeys instead of cooking them. It is an artform.

the burger in the first image looks shopped. i can tell from all the pixels and from seeing a few shops of food in my time.

Yeah they put lacquer over stuff so it's all fresh and glossy looking too.

With chocolate bars and such they make a version of the product that is a lot bigger than what you get at the shop.

Did you check the burger inside the wrap or are you one of those dumbarses that complain before checking to see what you've actually got? I say this because the author of the news.com.au article comparing the HJ's Angus burger to the McDonald's Angus burger says HJs wrap theirs in the bacon deluxe wraps.

Shut up kat, it's a new thread. deal with it.

I hate those little yellow balls BS they put on the buns at HJs now, they get f***ing everywhere.

The crispy chicken bacon burgers at HJs are epic though.

the other thread was about the maccas one - it doesn't matter whether someone mentioned the hj version or not

asif you'd revive an old thread about a maccas angus burger in order to to show the difference between pics of a hj burger that they advertise and the actual served product

why does this even need to be explained - it's sheer madness, that's what it is

Just tried a single Angry Angus. Mine was wrapped in a Bacon Deluxe wrapper too but was no where as bad looking as Trog's. It uses the same bun as HJs Crispy Chicken range, so the Angus is not as wide as a Whopper. As for taste, the angus beef was disappointing - it tastes no different to a Whopper, and even if the Angus beef does enhance the taste it wasn't given a chance against the spicy sauce, bacon and fried onions, which I enjoyed quite a bit! In comparison, I think McDonald's Grand Angus and Mighty Angus are better in both presentation (they resemble the photos and don't use a wrapper, which would have cheapen their appearance) and taste that justified the angus beef, in particular the Mighty Angus.

I may have been lucky with my Grand and Mighty Angus, so I suspect that the beef in my Angry Angus had been in the warmer for too long, hence the Whopper soggy beef taste, so I'm willing to give the Angry Angus another shot. Even if it's more of the same, there's atleast the spicy sauce and fried onions to enjoy.

I don't know why HJs even sell different types of burger. I seriously cannot tell the difference between any of them, other than some being bigger than others. They all taste exactly the same.

Most definately got a bacon deluxe. there were no so called angry onions or anything. I usually check what they give me when me and my family go to fast food places, but i guess ill have to check the easy orders too. Didnt realise i would have to open the wrapping to make sure i get the right thing anyways.

Mine was in a Bacon Deluxe wrapper too, and I thought they'd given me the wrong burger at first cuz I couldn't see any onions. In my photos you can see a TINY bit of one sticking out - if I hadn't gone looking for them I would have thought it wasn't this new burger.

Tastes like mustard and tomato. Barely could taste the meat or the weird semi seethrough bits.

The salted fresh fries were significantly better than the burger. I'll stick to the regular "Stunner deal combo with extra lettuce, tomato and onion please and an upgrade to storm".

The wrapper means s***. It's either they're too lazy to use the proper one, dont have the proper one or have ran out of it.

just found this.... wow... lol.

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,27574,26393826-29277,00.html

HUNGRY Jack's has been roasted over the nutritional value of one of its new burgers, which was found to contain well over a person's recommended daily intake of salt.
Every "Double Angry Angus Burger" contains 5.6 grams of salt - that's nearly one-and-a-half times the 4g daily salt target for adults set by the nation's health authority.

Something like 800 Calories in a double Angry Angus burger. For some reason that makes me want to eat it more.

What the f***ing f***... from memory, a "safe" range for sodium intake is 1500mg-2200mg... so my guess is that there is something really wrong with that article. Judging from the size and the ingredients, I would be suprised if it had too much more salt than a Big Mac, which is only something like 1000mg...

Had one today, was like a wopper but less satisfying. It just ain't a HJ's burger unless you have dressing and sauce dropping everywhere.

Edit: Would've been better if they had more 'angry onions' on it.
