If they already have a phone carrier they use explore that and maybe some sort of discount with their business plans.
I know Telstra almost gave us our SMS gateway at my last place of employment when we asked them cause we had a lot of business phones etc with them. PS. f*** that AMP banner s***s me. |

lots of experience. latest was from this http://qgl.ausforums.com/index.php/439207/?agn=thread&id=2746988
if you've got a wm phone, easy as, and lots of ways to do it. i found a poc, where you setup active sync, create tasks in outlook. an app on the phone will sync these with pocket outlook, and send sms's i got lots of source code if you want a hand. |

or like it was said above, there are lots of sms gateways. alot use email, webrequest or soap as the api.
the first 2 are probably the easiest. if your client base is static, you can upload a csv of contacts to the sms gateway provider, then send to a group in the address book. if your requirements are a bit more dynamic, you create a script that calls a url repeativly. most are something like this http://www.mygateway.com?username=abc&password=123&phonenumber=000000&message=hello, this is spam |

Yeah, if it's a small biznez like mine (or managing a group of say up to 60 peeps, sending maybe 4 or 5 SMSs a month) then you can do it with floAt's Mobile Agent and a $25 bluetooth dongle. I swear by this method for small/medium groups. I just have an Excel spreadsheet of contacts with a VB Script to cat mobile numbers together semi-colon separated to cut and paste them into FMA. |
