it has, but only from 300mbit to 200mbit - so provided there's not enough other people downloading, you can still get the same speeds (for example I am testing it right now @ 1.6 megabytes/s)

also did you mean 1.3 megabytes/s instead of megabits?

I just tried this file: http://www.ausgamers.com/files/details/html/7614 and only got 300-400kB/s on Telstra cable.

Ausgamers needs a server load meter or something to show us how many connections/total connections are being used to see if it's a connection problem to ausgamers or whether or not ausgamers is just getting hammered because of the latest patch for something. If you see 125499/125500 connections then you know you're probably not going to be downloading that file any time this week :)

yeh 22MB/s going out of the main files server alone atm, which is most of our theoretical 25MB/200mb

I'll juggle some things around which will take the load off the primary server. We have a new US-based server for this that we're still sorting out ; I forgot to put the new War3 patches on it which means our main server is copping some extra load.

Yeh we used to have this data internally but its gone since we changed web servers. What you CAN do is go to any page under /files and look at the "top hourly" downloads. If there's anything getting more than about 60/hour in the top slot, it means we're real busy :)

the server load is ok though as far as I can see - it seems to be a throughput issue - we're just hitting our capacity at times it seems

Could be faster. Don't see why anyone else should be complaining though...

Wtf... Ara, is that via internal network or something?

Didn't Jim just say that the theoretical max was 25MB/s?
