What's funny though is that the remix / spew version has had more media coverage than the launch of the actual "monkees" QLD tourism ad.

If you watched the original tourist ad, it's not quite the QLD you may be familiar with. I've seen marketing for Surfers Paradise that shows it as this beautiful place where everyone is all smiles - the parody in that case should be feral sluts everywhere, bogans starting fights, people getting hassled by the cops, s*** bag hotel staff that can't get anything right, and paying $30 to park at the shops. That's the holiday you're in for.

When it comes to QLD, it sounds like a lot of you people are doing it wrong.

BTW, that vid was so s***. The cutting was so quick I could only just make out the faces in the pictures, and didn't have a hope of reading more than one or two words of the headings.

Just because you're 'doing it right' doesn't mean that someone who comes here on holiday will be able to avoid all that s***. It's just reality, I'm not saying QLD is the worst place, but it's a lot closer to the tourist's home city than they might think.
