Just curious as to what your workplace does for its xmas party?

Were currently looking for ideas. The last 2 years we had it on "The Island"

This year we want to change it up!

we are located in southbank, we used to go down to the plough inn it was changed to the ship inn last year and it was pretty s*** but i doubt they will change it for another 10 years or something. i think it took like 3 years to get it changed from the plough :\ i dunno why anyone wanted it changed. if it was to the fox i'd be happy

we rock up to work on friday do nothing then go down to the pub at 12 work pays for lunch (everyone gets the obligatory most expensive steak on the menu) and they put on a bar tab which usually runs out about 5:30 or so. everyone is charged to move on by then

when i was in the public service, we used to go for the traditional 12-1 Christmas lunch. Start off with steaks somewhere at noon and then end up usually at Adrenalin around 1am.

I miss those days.

Think we are doing Merthyr Bowls Club this year which should be a good laugh.

Have done the following:

Kookuburra Queen River Cruise (awesome food an booze),
Tangalooma (twice actually - The Skipper of the Boat the second time was none other than ol school Fast Bowler Jack Thompson) - (awesome food an booze),
The GM's mansion at Doomben (awesome food an booze)
Hilton + Live Band (awesome food an booze),
Merthyr Bowls Club (lotsa giggles),
Massive amount of redunancies in Oct 06 so boss through early Xmas party at Lasseters (Formerly Doolies in Valley) which was who I worked for for all of above.

Last two years have been with CA and was held at an Italian Restaurant called "Tonies" in Mt Gravatt.
FYI: Last two were complete s***e

in 2006 we hired one of the ball rooms at the opera house and setup a full casino style party
that was pretty pimp, also at 7.30pm on the night it was still 100% full bright as day - trippy

it saddens me to see Tony spoken about in this way.

alike, it saddens me even more that James Rolfe will never speak of the actions of Brisbane members helped build the OCAU community.

Toni did not gain his business the hard way - yet he has never forgotten where he is from.

I respect him deeply.. even if/though his friends and associates will not show me the same respect.

You don't make a lot of sense. Please explain because I'm interested. James Rolfe is the creator of OCAU right? Is he Tony/Toni that owns the Italian joint or are you just comparing the two together?

For the record the venue was ok as was the food, I just thought it was a bit ordinary for a Xmas party when compared to my own experience with prior xmas parties.

virgin usually book out eagle farm racecourse (no races tho), have rides and santa for the kids. free food and drinks. usually have a band like evermore or sneaky sound system play. its a pretty crazy day. except last year they didnt have spirits but i just took a little bottle of rum in my pocket. oh and hot virgin girls walking around in skimpy dresses.

our birthday parties are way better but they aren't having one this year. the bastards.

Oh crap :) Thanks for reminding me! That was the other year I couldn't remember (Prolly cause I barely remember the end of the night!). How the fark could I forget this one!
We had one Xmas party at Doomben (had it on Ladies Day): I literally had woman forcing their breasts into my hand cause they thought I was a Fashion Judge! Aforementioned boss was one the previous year an gave me his "official" Judge lapel label and ....

f*** that was some funny s***!

Edit for name of track (Can never remember the names of them if it wasn't for my Stubby Cooler).

My work place is so awesome throughout the whole year it doesn't need a party at Christmas. Every day is a party.
