Hi guys,
Short story: There are some connection issues when connecting to the internet via a particular office. I am trying to get some network monitoring freeware to set up for the day tomorrow so I can read some logs of poor performance or disconnects throughout the day. Any suggestions? Long story: I'm currently trying to troubleshoot some networking issues in an office. I've set this office up with a remote server where clients connect via remote desktop connection. Anyway... for the most part things are fine but during the day the connection slows down and the other day I had a billion router s*** itself and die so I hooked up the spare netgear router and there were about 3 dropouts during the day. I'm thinking it's either a networking issue or a power issue. I need some sort of freeware that can run in the office and log performance during the day while I'm not there so I can look at it later. Any suggestions? |

I had an almost identical issue with a client, I put a smoothwall box in and put the modem in bridge mode.
From 1 -3 dropouts a day too 14 days solid and good monitoring and reporting. |

PRTG, setup snmp on your device and get prtg to monitor it.
