So, I've been wracking my brains looking through everything I can trying to remove just one users posting rights to one section/subforum on a forum I run. I don't mind if he can read etc but I want to stop him posting in that section.

Been googleing and no go.

I tried creating a new group and then giving that group read/write access everywhere bar the one forum I wanted to remove access from but for some reason it wont let me adjust permissions for anything but two or three new sub-forums I've created.

Any ideas PHPBB gurus?

I don't think you can deny permissions, just grant.

Try checking phpbb.com's forum mods section, I am sure there is a "per forum ban" plugin or something like that.

I've never used it so have no idea what I'm talking about but is there a ban list in the actual forum section rather than the users section? Anything like a "read only users" setting in the sub forum options? If he's being a dick why not just ban him for a month?
