I haven't reinstalled it since by PS3 died (probably hadn't played more than 100 hours before it died), but if I remember correctly, you don't race directly against people, your time is submitted to a scoreboard.

thats a bit of a dud isnt it. How cool would GT2 be with good graphics and if your opponents were real people over the internet...

Any one know of games like this?

nah, theres live multi. its amazing, automatically finds races with people in them etc. pretty sweet.

GTR2 + Mods == win.

TrackMania used to be good. Wonder if that game still has a following ?

It does.. But the last time i played the multi-player component which was back when prologue was released, it felt more like destruction derby than anything else.

Collision detection? If by a bit whack you mean non-existent then you're on the money, but it's like that on purpose. Even though you can see all the other cars racing in Trackmania you're still always just racing against the clock (which is good because it lets you restart whenever you want). And yeah, it still has a good following.
