I have been twice now but just to watch.

The reply i got to an email i sent to QR admin a while ago:

"The skid pan costs $50 and a AASA licence which is $20 for the day or $55 for the year. The track & skid pan costs $80. Safety equipment required are long sleeves, long pants, closed in shoes & a Australian Standards Helmet. Entry in the gate is $10.00. Gates open at 5pm with on track activity starting about 6pm. To organise your licence and track entry please come to the circuit office at the base of the tower."

Archerfield also do Wednesday arvo drift prac without fail! Anyone can get on track you just have to pay $50 and it goes from 4 till 9/10ish. Best to register your going ( http://www.option1garage.com.au/ ) before you rock up to make sure you get a spot but you can just rock up.

Archi has been packed with Bogans and boost cursing people lately doing skids out the front and has stopped a great number of us going. Last Wednesday a mini truck ute thing was doing a burn out at the front gate. When he was told to f*** off he ran over the person telling him off! Bogans destroy motor sports full stop!

If there is a drift even on in Brisbane it will be advertised on http://www.secretdrift.com.au/

Friday nights at QR get very busy now. I started to learn on the skid pan at QR. If you’re serious about drifting get yourself to a private day where you get more track time and there are lots of mad kents to help and give advice. Qr is a long drive so if you’re driving your car to the track remember race cars do brake stuff!

once i've worn through the federals i might chuck some s***ty tyres on there and come to a drift night for s***s and giggles. only problem is you get a lot of smoke in the cabin from lighting up the front wheels =\

no i do time attack and sprints.. need to fix my AWD controller before i would actually try and drift, but with enough hp you can slide gtr's in awd pretty easily. not really my goal for the car though. want it to go faster round a track not sideways :P

Of course AWD can drift, and they understeer as they go into it as opposed to oversteering.
99% of streeters just wouldn't have the guts to spin the wheels fast enough on a good, dry surface.

I have given off-road rally a go in a WRX and I failed miserably at it, RWD for me ta.

Its really my first time drifting so I'd like the track to myself when i'm out on it. These private sessions how much are they usually?

Jump onto the SD forums for private drift days. I'm yet to attend one.

Archie is teh gay. Seriously small track.
Didn't have enough lock to even hold a decent slide. Putting aside the fact that I suck.

QR is the s*** if you're wanting to learn.
Massive speed, massive entry and massive angles.

There's a R32 GTR sponsored by Budget out on Friday nights. I think he's still running ATTESSA and HICAS.

f***en s*** is LOL.
Then I just stfu and get back in my POS.
Toot toot.

Just come out and give it a go.
But please don't spin out and break your s***. Waiting around for the rescue truck is gay and everyone gets held up.

Yeah you don’t buy a gtr for drifting :D

QR is the best place to learn. Start on the skid pan and get the feel for throwing the car around. When you get good at the skid pan doing figer eights and big ovals, and you can keep your hands and feet in the right place doing the right things your ready for the track.

Don’t worry they only let one car go at a time for beginners and if you spin they will wait for you to get going before they send another car out. Start slow, don’t go trying massive entrys because you’ll put it into a wall or over a ripple strip.

Never get angry at your car remember your there to have fun! I see so many people bitching that their car isn’t any good blah blah. just get out there and have fun. That’s the number one learning tip i can give any one!
