Sup
So I am ditching my 2408WFP in favour of a 40" Bravia, so I want to grab a wireless keyboard and mouse for ez Now running off a lappy with limited USB ports so BT would be preferred. Been looking at the logitech cordless desktop MX-5500 - can anyone speak from experience with regard to this set ? I am coming from a standard MS 5 button optical mouse |

diNovo are meant to be good.
MX5500 is oldschool - they were selling that when I worked at officeworks, but that being said - it might still be good. |

Backlit keyboard would be nice.
I like having the light off but then I can't see the keyboard properly. Life's hard :( |

I have had my mx5500 combo for nearly a year (bought from umart for $145) and honestly the only bad thing about it is the keyboard screen is not backlit. It's still very good for gaming, and having control to assign all extra buttons to anything you want (even key combos), being able to play tf2 and change songs in winamp at the same time with ease. There is no delay in connection because its always connected unless its left idle for a while.
The mouse is awesome with the magnetic 4-way, middle button, main wheel. Side wheel for zoom on webpages etc is very handy. It has good accuracy on a decent surface. battery life is good on both. (keyboard lasts about 3 months heavy usage, mouse a week without charge) The bluetooth receiver is good too with the ability to connect other blue tooth devices as well as the keyboard and mouse at the same time. Pros: good battery life on both very customizable mouse and keyboard no 'wireless lag' good value great range (ive got about 9-10M off mine through the house on the keyboard) Cons: No backlit screen on keyboard hard to see in the dark mouse is a little heavier than most mouses middle click takes a while to get used to (harder than most mouses) works on Linux but no available logitech software to use to full potential overall id give it a 8.9/10 |

I'm really not doing this on purpose, but my favourite wireless keyboard is the apple wireless keyboard. It's bluetooth and works fine on windows.
http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/148219/apple-wireless.jpg I definitely don't recommend an apple wireless mouse, some logitech wireless would be much better. |
