i have only recently bought an xbox 360 console which came with a control. over the past couple of weeks i have been having issues with the control. especially in assassins creed, every time i am hurt or the control viabrates, the control turns off (like what would happen if it was low on battery) but when i press the middle button, it comes up with a menu which tells me that the battery life is still high. do i need 2 buy a knew control or has someone come across this problem themselves and have found a sollution. and please no one post stupid helpless replies like:
why dont u try not getting hurt. haha i try but im just not that good. as i said i have only played these games for a month. thank u 2 anyone that can help!

Sounds like the battery is shaking loose when it vibrates. Either just disable vibrate and be careful with it, or contact MS for a warranty replacement.

Not sure if it'll fix the problem, but for the wireless controller I'd recommend one of these to avoid constantly replacing batteries: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360playchargekit/

It comes with a battery kit so it might make a difference if the batteries are losing contact with the controller. *shrug*

Try http://www.armybootsbobsmods.com/ as he does work on lots of controllers and might be able to troubleshoot that for you.

Using batteries? I had the same thing. It was vibration related. Either vibration shaking batteries loose but more likely was batteries not enough charge for vibration. I used the batteries that came with the controller for more than 10 hours before it started happening. Turn off vibration for now. But go get a play and charge kit asap.

My control doesn't do anything weird like that when it's low it just flashes the lights at me. Could it be interference from a wireless router or something?

Some of the batteries dont clip in as well as others. It sounds like you just have one thats a very loose fit. Get it swapped out under warranty bud.

Same thing happened to me, and I took it back to EB where I bought the console and they swapped it. This was the second time I replaced the controller, the first one squeaked every time you moved the left thumb stick.

It was funny cos the first time I went to replace it, it was pretty busy and the guy was all flustered. I asked if I could pay the extra to get a recharge kit and he gruffly told me that they have to send them back complete so he couldn't swap it with a different type blah blah even though they had to cut open the packaging of a rechargeable one to swap it (I have the red controller from the RE5 pack).

Then when I went it to swap it again cos the thing was switching itself off, I got the same guy. His manager was there this time, and he was all like "Oh well sir what I can do is if you pay the extra $20 I can give you this rechargeable one".

So I got what I wanted eventually and I didn't say anything cos I didn't want to be "that guy" but just goes to show that these stores make up s*** to suit themselves.

The moral of the story? I would take it back from where you bought it and demand a replacement. Unless you bought it second hand, then you're f***ed.
