"Microsoft huh, so its pretty easy to use then?" lolololololololol, even Bill would cringe at that one. Seriously, Microsoft Marketing == complete and utter fail. |

everything sounds like cheesy 80s midi music.
Now, time to wait for sound clips of people doing death metal screams into it and/or farting. |

Microsoft
Once More, With Feeling.
This kind of implies that their house was a sad, sad, angry mess before Songsmith arrived. How crap was that! Also, notice how everyone who spoke to the previous person ended up with a copy of Songsmith, I bet they all copied from each other. |

Seriously, Microsoft Marketing == complete and utter fail. Maybe MS Research needs to develop a SongSmith peripheral device for the advertising execs in the obvious target market. It would be a big hand that slaps them in the face when they attempt a kitschy or clumsy line like that. Bonus points if it punched them whenever they suggested do anything with Jerry Seinfeld. |

Seriously, Microsoft Marketing == complete and utter fail. ...yet here we all are talking about their product. i'd say that's pretty win. do you seriously think the ad guys that make that did not realise how cheesy it was? do you think that's an accident? |

...yet here we all are talking about their product. i'd say that's pretty win. do you seriously think the ad guys that make that did not realise how cheesy it was? do you think that's an accident? My argument would be the type of audience QGL attracts is more the people who recommend the software. I can't see myself recommending this to anyone (at least anyone that I like). Perhaps if my boss came up and asked what he could use to make a new theme song, I'd suggest this just for s***s and giggles. That being said, Microsoft Research do some kick arse stuff, and are really awesome people, I just think the ad doesn't really do it very good justice at all (with regards to the target market). I doubt this will actually get shown on TV, so I guess it is more of a viral marketing strategy to get it out there via social networks like youtube. Perhaps it appeals to most people, really really doesn't appeal to me. |
